On the way home from ballet rehearsal on Sunday I visited 2 different Little Free Libraries. These were my spoils. 5.5 hours of ballet done this weekend ✅. I‘m a bit sore as I had a bit of a rest in the school holidays just gone.

Interesting book that can be read from start to finish, or in bits, depending on which articles catch your fancy. Each article is related to Provence, Peter Maybe sharing his knowledge, observations or personal experience, often with wit and humor.
I actually enjoy reading the correspondence of various writers — and Bruce Chatwin‘s is no different. In fact I enjoyed it as much as reading his collected articles, “What Am I Doing Here”
If you‘re not generally inclined towards letter reading then this won‘t be for you. But I find reading about the various trips they took, what they thought about people and events, all of that can be very entertaining.
This book takes you on a journey on the Amur River fro@ Mongolia to Sakhalin Island!
I enjoyed this book!
I loved visiting America / NY back in 2019 and #theworldismyoyster made me think of that trip so going with this book I bought at the Strand (short stories by writers who left NY) and the song paired well - probably my favourite Simon & Garfunkel album. #titlesandtunes

This was a pick, but only just. Some parts were fascinating but I loved the shortest section, on #frenchguiana most, followed by #suriname and then #guyana, which was much more than half of the book.
The author wrote everything in the present tense, but jumped around chronologically so it was very difficult to follow.
Quadruple dipping again!

Starting from his home in Shetland, Malachy Tallack follows the 60th parallel westward through the countries in traverses: Greenland, Canada, US (Alaska), Russia, Finland, Sweden, and Norway, ultimately arriving back home. He gives a bit of each place, including some history, and a bit of his own story. I really enjoyed this. He writes well and I feel like I can see each place right there with him.
Of course, I‘m being greedy and having three books as my #lastfirst!
I‘ve just finished book 200 for the year (My Monticello) which means I can‘t possibly finish any more in 2022-need to have a tidy number!
I started listening to Demon a few days ago, Wild Coast will be my first for #readingtheamericas2023 and I‘ll start The Violin Conspiracy for some fiction. As long as I finish them in 2023 then they‘ll all count for next year‘s challenges!
