Crinoline_Laphroaig"he did not believe that Pemberley had really been primarily designed for giving balls in; but his family could perceive that his opposition was not intended to be very serious, and the discussion terminated with his promising to talk it over with Elizabeth, and even to consider the middle of November as being a date likely to suit the convenience of both households."1y
ravenleeI can picture Mrs. Jennings trying to play her game, “What letter does his name…” and Kitty rushing in “hisnameisPriceandhe‘salieutenantinthenavyandhe…”1y
willafulI don't remember Mrs. Jennings! I assume she's from Sense and Sensibility?
I wonder why the book is being so coy about Marianne. It seems a little late to bring her in and give her another husband.1y
Ruthiella@willaful Yes, she‘s from S&S. She‘s the mother of Lady Middleton. Sir John is Mrs. Dashwood‘s cousin who provides a cottage for Mrs. Dashwood and her daughters once Fanny Dashwood convinces her husband to do nothing for his stepmother and half sisters. She‘s a little low class and makes off color remarks but truly is a kind and generous woman.1y
dabbeAre we all hoping it'll be Price and Georgianna and Moreland and Kitty? That's what I'm hoping for! And Mrs. Jennings is still a hoot! 😀1y
peanutnine@dabbe definitely hoping for Georgiana and Price, they are a much better match. Not sure about Kitty and Morland yet, she needs to mature a bit more first I think1y
