Lots of people found this funny. The have someone impersonate your grandson was. But on the whole I just found it horribly depressing. 😒

#Pemberlittens it's your mid month check in. How's it going? Are you reading 2 Chapters a Day all month? @Andrea313 @CaramelLunacy are doing fun posts.
Myself I'm doing daily read but will probably finish early to get Discussion Questions ready for January 30th.
*Remember to tag #JaneAustenThenAndNow so every one can find your posts.
"From this moment her mind was never quiet; the expectation of seeing him every hour of the day, made her unfit for any thing."
#Pemberlittens Chapters 27/28 Marianne the Drama Queen Dashwood and her letter writing. ??♀️
#JaneAustenThenAndNow
#Pemberlittens this was the view from my front porch yesterday. Neighbors pond which I call Mr Darcy‘s pond was looking lovely after about 5 inches of snow here in my part of Oklahoma.
It's reminded me of tagged book I read last winter. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
#Pemberlittens "After sitting with them a few minutes, the Miss Steeles returned to the Park, and Elinor was then at liberty to think and be wretched."
I am not wretched. I have tea and wonderful view of snow from my bed.
???❄️? #JaneAustenThenAndNow
#Pemberlittens a bit of #JaneAustenThenAndNow from yesterday's reading of Chapter 19 - Then. I had forgotten the circumstances when this was said and whi said it. Wise words from Mrs Dashwood? That's not something I associate with her.
And the 'Now' ⬇️......
My thoughts @BarkingMadRead while reading today's #HashtagBrigade -
"As to flowers in pots, they didn't hold with the nasty, messy things. But they did, at least, believe in cleaning up their houses once a day, for public opinion demanded that of them."?
Happy #ShadowhunterSunday! I've been wanting to do a complete reread of #Shadowhunters in Chronological order for awhile. Now that Cassandra Clare has announced The Last King of Faerie will be released in Spring 2026 its time.
January:
✔️What Really Happened in Peru.
✔️The Runaway Queen.
✔️ Vampires, Scones, and Edmond Herondale
Next Book 1 The Infernal Devices Clockwork Angel.
#AllTheStoriesAreTrue Challenge update 1st Sun of the month.➰️
#Pemberlittens every year I pick a Daily Quote book to start my day with. Picked tagged for #JaneAusten250. Couldn't find any reviews, took a chance because it was only $5.95.
Cover is gorgeous. Format not my favorite. For instance, today is Day 5, not January 5. Annoying later in the year when you're just trying to find your place not having to do math with your morning tea. Also it doesn't appear that quotes are based on seasons. ⬇️
I went with audiobook edition for #HashtagBrigade. I'm caught up. Although @BarkingMadRead last night Chapter 3 was my Sleep Story. 😴
#Pemberlittens listened to January Episode this morning. It was lovely. Going to be perfect companion to #JaneAustenThenAndNow. Loving all the #Jane250 content out in the world.

My first read of 2025! I've been using both StoryGraph and Goodreads for last couple of years. SG just seems to be getting better. They keep adding things I love like this Reading Calendar. Also like that if a book is missing you can add it yourself. Plus you can make your own challenges.
GRs still hasn't updated my last Review of 2024 Challenge. Keeping for years of Reviews, Stats, & friends.
Who else is on StoryGraph? Link to me ⬇️
#Pemberlittens It's time! I have several editions I will visit but this will be my main one. Gorgeous and has a ribbon bookmark. S & S has 50 Chapters so 2 Chapters a Day, if that's your preferred reading. I'll probably aim for that but may get to a spot and want to finish. How about you? ? #JaneAustenThenAndNow
"The family of Dashwood had long been settled in Sussex."

My answers:
1️⃣ Reread. I first read several years ago and have often revisited. When choosing books, I knew was perfect for December. Short stories are wonderful during the busy holiday season. Plus there's something for everyone. ⬇️
I was looking forward to something like Grace Notes in Living A Beautiful Life. The practical things like setting a pretty table and making your bath your own private oasis. This was more meditations and deep thoughts. I ended up using it as an On This Day quote journal. Because of that I will keep and refer back to. The actual book bored me. I've already finish up the year of writing holiday quotes and yearly reminders in it. 😒 #myyearinbooks
#SeasonalCozies with @julieclair Challenge.
I've really enjoyed! Particularly liked the Juniper Holiday series by Leighann Dobbs. I've listened to Halloween Party Murder, Thanksgiving Dinner Death, and Who Slayed the Santas. Up next is Book 4 Masquerade Party Murder for New Years. My Fatal Valentine is on my February stack. 🎃🦃🎅🏻🎭💝 #myyearinbooks
Winter Solstice is such a comfort read for me. I love reading along the December Timeline. After the family Christmas party last night I settled down by the fire with the last of my Peaty Whisky Advent Calendar - The Balvinie 14 Year Old - The Week of Peat and read the Christmas Eve chapter. 🥃
#RosamundePilcherForEverySeason
Happy Holidays‼️🎄
#Pemberlittens 📢 Cover Reveal‼️
I'm part of Austenprose Celebration of the next book Mr Darcy and Miss Tilney series. I love seeing Elizabeth & Darcy's son and Catherine & Henry Tilney's daughter's adventures.
Plenty of time to catch up on the series. Release Date is June 17 2025. #JaneAustenThenAndNow Book Club is reading Mansfield Park in July. Great choice for August Adaptations. 🎩
Timeline Readalong - Elfrida vs The Toaster.
I love how Rosamunde Pilcher takes everyday life and turns it into a story. Elfrida wanting to buy a toaster but worrying about the cost. You see how her decision to move to Scotland affected her finances.
Pages for reference:
Hardback (Flowers in the Snow Cover)pgs 153 - 174
Paperback (Red Coat Cover)pgs 229 - 262
Kindle (Snowflake)pgs 173 - 197

#RosamundePilcherForEverySeason
December Seasonal Readalong has reached the heart of the story. We've met all the characters and they will be coming together in Scotland.

#Pemberlittens last #JaneAdjacent Book Club read of 2024‼️ #JaneAustenThenAndNow begins in January.
When choosing books for #12MonthsOfJane I knew Yuletide was perfect for December. Short stories are wonderful during the busy holiday season. Plus there's something for everyone. And I love that it benefits Chawton Great House. Grab your copy and enjoy over the festive season. Discussion Post will be up December 30th. 🎁
It's always hard for a sequel to live up to expectations. Especially a book as beloved as The House in the Cerulean Sea. My favorite thing was seeing the Baker-Parnassus family being happy.
#Pemberlittens It's time for #JaneAdjacent Book Club. My answers:
1️⃣ Print Copy. I wanted a Northanger Abbey retelling for this month. November just seems the perfect time
for Northanger Abbey. Cover caught my eye. I just love it! Didn't realize the setting is November. Or that it was Time Travel.
2️⃣ I really liked Mr Austen in the past story.
3️⃣ Love a Book Fair!
⬇️
My early morning tea and read last few days.
Marvin the Merman has always been my favorite of the San Andreas Shifters ever since I first met him in Gail Carriger's short story Marine Biology. (It's free when you sign up for her newsletter The Chirrup.) He always sparkles . It was interesting to see a more serious side to him. Also learning more about merfolk. ⬇️
Short, fun listen. Perfect for cleaning the house before company comes. I'll be doing the Christmas one for December #SeasonalCozies. In January will be switching to #ThematicCozies with @julieclair but I still intend to finish this series. 🦃
This morning I've been working in my kitchen. Getting ready for the Holidays. Lovely to take a break and finish November section of Winter Solstice. I'll set it aside now and in December will read along the Timeline.
"Nothing much seemed to have changed, except that most of the trees had shed their leaves and there was a definite wintry feel to the air." ??➡️?❄️

My 5:
🍂 This week as I used my dining room table as a desk I had this beautiful fall view.
🎩 I have 33 for#Pemberlittens signed up for #JaneAustenThenAndNow in 2025.
💅🏻 Got my nails done today.
💐 Farmstand Flowers
🎧 Gail Carriger gifted the fandom with a reading of Vixen Ecology.
#Pemberlittens if you have a Netgalley account. Natalie Jenner's next book is available to download for a limited time.
My #great2024parasolversereread is moving on to Imprudence in November. On track to finish by end of year. I love Gail Carriger! Discovered her on Litsy. Read Library books first and then started collecting. After the house fire she sent me everything she could to replace.
Her books are so pretty. Something she once talked about in a Facebook Live. How she pays attention to how covers will look together.
If you want to stick to Litsy only just ignore.
I've dusted off the #PemberLittens Facebook Group to share a video of #JaneAustenThenAndNow Book Club https://www.facebook.com/share/19WBUhK2kj/
Also on Threads. https://bit.ly/3AkVnvQ

Instagram is fun because my dear friend Claire from 🇬🇧 https://bit.ly/4eihalH joins in there with some amazing posts. Her mum made my Jane doll on the shelf behind me.
December 16, 2025 is 250 Anniversary of Jane Austen's Birth. I wanted to do something special for #JaneAdjacent Book Club.
Thought to harken back to beginnings of Pemberlittens when @sprainedbrain brought us together to read Jane Austen.
One month will read Original. Next you choose a retelling, graphic novel, or watch a movie. Tag @Crinoline_Laphroaig #PemberLittens #JaneAustenThenAndNow so we can find your posts.
I'm so excited for this!
😮 #JaneAdjacent BookClub is down to 2 books! Never fear #PemberLittens I have a plan. Working out few things and then will let you know.
Searching for Mr Tilney by Jane Odiwe
Is November's Novel. (Yes that's a nod to Northanger Abbey.) I'm excited because I adore Henry Tilney.
Read at your own pace. Discussion Post will be up November 30th. And as always let me know if you want to be tagged or removed from tag. #12monthsofjane
Happy Publication Day‼️🥳
That's me! In the Acknowledgements! This is one of the coolest things that has ever happened to me.
I was thrilled to receive an ARC and it didn't disappoint! Loved sassy main character Kensington Shaw and 1920s setting. Magical cozy mystery perfection! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pemberlittens It's time for #JaneAdjacent. My answers:
1️⃣ First read. Print copy. First Impression - overly wordy. Everything is described in great detail. As member of Fictional Hangover https://www.fictionalhangover.com/ Vampire Book Club, I've read quite a few Vampire books. This is by far one of the worst.
⬇️
It's been a crazy busy month. But this week is supposedly quiet. Starting Mr Darcy, Vampyre by Amanda Grange today. Should have discussion post up October 30th as planned. 🧛🏻♂️

I found a new series to finish out the year of @julieclair #SeasonalCozies. Short fun listen. I particularly loved main character Juniper is a wild Auntie Mame type. Four more in the Series featuring Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Valentine‘s Day. Definitely plan on listening to them with the coming Holidays. 🎃🦃🎄🎉💝
#Pemberlittens
Absolutely loved! Characters and relationships were true to original while telling a new story. Particularly liked Mr. Woodhouse. Also managed to included poultry thieves. Knightley and Emma as a married couple was totally believable. Was nice to see them making the situation of living with Emma's father work. Mystery kept me guessing to the end. Just a fabulous read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#Pemberlittens there be Spoilers ahead‼️🏴☠️ #JaneAdjacent
1️⃣ First read. Print. I liked that mistaken identity didn't go on for a long time. Darcy being accused of being a pirate could have been much darker and that's not something I want to read.
2️⃣ Always Elizabeth
3️⃣ Elizabeth figuring out who the Captain really was. Which leads me to my favorite quote.
4️⃣ “Thank you, again, for the dance, Mr. Darcy.” ⬇️
#Pemberlittens I've a couple more chapters to finish. September's #JaneAdjacent discussion
post of Pirates and Prejudice by Kara Louise will be up this evening. 🏴☠️

This reminds me of Barbara Pym novel but with sex. Nothing much happens. Just a view into people's everyday lives. Has one my pet peeves - overly long chapters. I hate to stop in the middle of a chapter. I found myself losing interest because it rambled on. If chapters had been shorter, could have read a few pages here and there and it would have been more enjoyable. ⬇️
My #great2024parasolversereread has moved on to Timeless. I absolutely adore Biffy aka Wingtip Spectator this one. ☂️
Timeline Readalong came to end today. Having just finished The Shell Seekers. I particularly liked the mentions of Penelope Keating. Although her sone Neil has some character growth. I feel he's still self centered.
I particularly liked setting, party, Archie and Isabelle. Violet was my favorite. Spunky older ladies are my favorite thing about Rosamunde Pilcher. 👵
#RosamundePilcherForEverySeason
Morning cuppa and a chapter. Timeline Readalong of Rosamunde Pilcher's September starts today and continues through September 17th. 🫖🍂🍁

#MonthlyMagazineBlitz is a success! I'm down to my stack of Gardening catalogs and The English Garden magazines that I'm keeping for Reference and Inspiration.
But keep me on the tag list @julieclair because I want to keep going. Up next is that stack of recipes I kept from the magazines I discarded. Need to sort and put in my Seasonal Recipe Notebooks.
It's time for #JaneAdjacent Book Club.
1️⃣ New read. Audio and Print. I read Ghosted - A Northanger Abbey Novel with #PemberLittens last year. So when I saw the author had written a book about Georgie Darcy, I immediately wanted to read. LOVE the cover.
2️⃣ Always Lizzy Bennet.
3️⃣ Georgie and Lizzy conversations. ⬇️
