Like her other books, an easy to read thriller with lots of twists and turns. I didn‘t guess any of the plot twists correctly but I loved trying to figure it all out.

I‘m a fan, and I started off loving this, but I couldn‘t sustain the excitement for the whole book. Suspenseful, action-packed, timely themes about the role of women in the world. The ending was too predictable to be so drawn out.
Read this as a text for a class I‘m taking, but it‘s going right into the coffee table rotation. Single page write ups w/timeline and a small portrait photo on artists worth knowing. Lots of full page full color plates. Fun to browse the art, see what the artists themselves look like, and learn interesting facts about their lives and work.
This has been on my TBR list forever and is always checked out at the library. Last day of school for this middle school librarian and I couldn't have imagined a better way to kick of summer than this #summersantagoespostal box. Thank you so much @Callemarie ! #summersolsticebookexchange
With apologies to my Litsy book exchange partner, I finally got my #summersantagoespostal package for the #summersolsticebookexchange in the mail this week, due to be delivered today or tomorrow. Plain on the outside, packed with reading and (off)seasonal fun on the inside! Can't wait for solstice!
So excited to start this ARC for the 8/17 Wonder Woman origin story by one of my favorite authors. First in the "DC icons" series of superhero backstory by awesome YA authors - Batman (Marie Lu) Catwoman (Sarah J Maas) Superman (Matt de la Pena)
I am such a voracious armchair explorer! Excited to dive into this account of an expedition to find a lost ancient city in the Honduran interior. Looks like my pets are along for the ride...
Twisty creepy thriller with English Lit/Drama appeal. A quick satisfying read in the "Gone Girl" style in the sense that I never knew what was really happening but couldn't stop reading.
Original, fast-paced thriller, in that unreliable narrator, Gone Girl style.
Excited to start reading the first book of the three in my YA #quarterly box. Love that the author has annotated it with sticky notes. #lya03 #bookmail
SciFi/Court intrigue mashup makes for an original ya offering. I liked the story but didn't find myself really loving the characters enough for this to be a compelling read.
If you can get past the killing - there's a lot of it, as Scythes are the grim reapers of a futuristic society- this is a compelling read. Starts out as a thrilling ya dystopian novel and just gets better and better, with surprises and lots of implied moral and philosophical themes. This was an entertaining book that has me thinking... best combo!
From my last #yaquarterly box. I'm predicting this will be the last book I start in this #readathon #24in48
Not sure how to describe this one - middle grade magical realism? In 1950's rural Mexico a caravan of Roms (gypsies) visit a small village and from there destiny takes over. I've never cried so much over what is basically just a beautiful, happy story.
Finished one book, now starting this one which was highly recommended by one of my 6th graders. #24in48
Easy-reading, wintry thriller propelled by a twisty set of secrets teens and their parents keep from each other.
Trying to finish the books in my last YA Quarterly book box before the next one arrives! 2/3rds of the way through this YA dystopian novel. Love the mashup of Artificial intelligence and farm life. It's an interesting, if not compelling read so far.
It took a darker turn than I had expected. Still, a riveting pandemic survival story with a fascinating glimpse into the world of reality tv. Original, suspenseful, read.
"Life is the most effective school ever created." This is a fun, fast-paced dystopian novel, reminiscent of The Hunger Games. Looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy.
