Not my favorite by this author but still really good.
I love St. James! For me, she always delivers a creepy ghost story!

I‘ve enjoyed several of St. James‘ earlier books so I was excited to dive into this one! I appreciated the 1995 setting & really liked the pop culture references though some of the MI geography seemed a little confusing. This ghost story fails to deliver real chills but opens with newlyweds driving to their honeymoon, waylaid by an unexpected encounter with a stranger on the side of the road changes their lives forever! A bit predictable but fun!
5 Stars • Murder Road by Simone St. James involves a newlywed couple, April and Eddie, who encounter supernatural horror on Atticus Line, a haunted road in Michigan. After helping a mysteriously bloodied woman, they're drawn into local legends about the "Lost Girl," a ghost believed to possess people to kill. ⬇️
This was our book club‘s October pick. Perfect read for the season. Simone St. James is always good for a creepy read. This one kept me interested from beginning to end. I love a good ghost story, and this fit the bill!! This isn‘t the first book I‘ve read by this author, and it won‘t be the last. I‘m not sure if I‘d ever take a ride on “Murder Road”. I don‘t want to meet the “Lost Girl”!
I was pretty excited about this one, and I liked it fine but not as much as I hoped. I feel like the story jumped in logic in weird places - I can‘t explain it but something felt off with the writing at times which I think took me out of it. Did have some spooky vibes for sure though

I‘m looking forward to both of these books this month. I love both authors and can count on them to deliver the spookiness and creepiness!

Newlyweds are haunted and trapped in a small town until they solve a decades-old crime. This one was a touch boring. An okay story but seemed longer than it needed to be.
I was so excited to read this book as I‘ve really enjoyed St. James‘s books but this one fell a little flat to me. The plot sounded great..a potential serial killer on a remote road, takes place in the 90‘s, has a little bit of supernatural and a little bit of reality. I guess I just didn‘t like the cop heavy investigation of the story. It just bogged the story down. The twist at the end was pretty good but didn‘t save the story.
Here's a book I recommend to read during the month of October, Murder Road by Simone St. James. I recently read it for Sunday Buddy read and highly enjoyed it. It was suspenseful and creepy. It was also my first Simone St. James book.

What a great ghost story! Although full of the expected tropes: a young couple with secrets, a sinister federal agent, a haunted B&B landlady, serial unexplained deaths, and the titular murder road, in St. James‘ talented hands, they work, beautifully. We want April and Eddie to escape their pasts, and succeed in their new relationship. Lots of twists at the end. Highly recommended 🌟
This book confirms my Simone St. James strike - 4 stars, 3 stars, 4 stars, 3 stars and this is another 4 stars book 😄 This amuses me so much, but I really did have a good time with this book and kept on wondering what's happend. Also, it's the perfect book to say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn. It's eerie, dark and captivating.

I haven‘t read a book by this author that I haven‘t liked. I‘m a sucker for a ghost story. This was a mix of a ghost story and had a who done it human element also. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While “Pretty as a Personality” may work in life, it does not in books.
This was really disappointing from this author. I wish the Dead Girl was the narrator. Sad. 😔
The best way to spend the evening
Eddie and April take a wrong turn, end up on a road in a town where hitchhikers regularly get murdered and get caught up in the legend of the Lost Girl. The connections they make about who the lost girl is seems to come out of nowhere. The twist at the end was interesting but did not add to the story at that point. Overall, it was an easy read, not great, not bad - just so-so.

Read for #SundayBuddyRead & another great Simone St. James book. My only disappointment with her books is waiting for the next one to come out. This one is set in the 90s along a very creepy atmospheric road & town in rural Michigan where a string of hitchhiker deaths from the 70s on is happening. A young, newly married couple with secrets gets involved. Perfectly chicken skin inducing especially when read on a dark windy night.😱
I loved this book ❤️
Eddie and April are newlyweds on their honeymoon. They take a wrong turn and end up picking up a hitchhiker with a stab wound. And quickly wind up as suspects.

St James delivers again with this one. A series of murders happen on a spooky stretch of road in the woods of Michigan. Our lead couple get caught up in the investigation and have secrets of their own. Top tier St James! Read for #sundaybuddyread
Simone St. James has grown on me. I don‘t typically read ghost stories because I‘m a wimp but she uses a light touch with the paranormal and I only read in the daytime. Eddie and April take an unexpected detour on the way to their honeymoon location and become in broiled in a murder investigation. Looking forward to Sunday‘s discussion #SundayBuddyRead
Finally a day off! Hopefully finishing this one today! My beautiful bookmark from my granddaughter 🖤🤍

Crappy picture, great book!! Had to finish once we got into the last half. Simone does it again 👏🏻👏🏻 #sundaybuddyread @TheBookHippie
It's 1995, Eddie and April have just gotten married, and they're headed to a small resort town for their honeymoon. Eddie mistakenly takes a wrong turn, and they end up on Atticus Line, a road where multiple hitchhikers have been found dead over the years. They quickly realize that something is very wrong on Atticus Line in Coldlake Falls.
Simone St. James is one of my favorite authors- I love how she combines mystery with the paranormal!
St. James writes wonderfully spooky novels that combine the supernatural with people‘s fears. This one does not disappoint. I loved every nail biting moment. And, I‘ll avoid Atticus Line, thank you very much! #CatsOfLitsy #SebastianKitty #SundayBuddyRead #52BookClub24 #IncludesAPersonalPhobia
WOW. Finished this & am still in April & Eddie‘s world. Just WOW. 😱😱
Looking forward to to our last discussion next Sunday. #sundaybuddyread
I love St. James‘ books! Always a wild ride with a supernatural theme. This one didn‘t disappoint.
