The final volume of I Hate Fairyland is out of print and available on #Hoopla. What started as a normal, everyday, child-sucked-into-a-magical-land-to-fulfill-an-inane-quest has changed Fairyland forever. In the continuation of saccharine fantasy-satire, Gertrude hands over the spotlight to Larry, Duncan Dragon, and some of Fairyland's other supporting cast, misfits, and forgotten threats.

At the end of Book I, Art calls his father a "murderer" for destroying his mother's diaries after her suicide. What deos he mean by that? Why is it so important for Art to find out about Auschwitz and why does his father take a different approach?
When they are returning from the Catskills near the end of the story, Art gets very mad when his father takes a racist attitude toward an African American hitchkiker. How does this incident illustrate the different meaning the Holocaust holds for Art and for his father?
The Complete Maus is not a huge book and even with black and wight color it took 13 years to complete it. Why do you think it took so long? Why with all success does Art have a writing block to start the second part?
How were desperate things that Vader father-in-law gave over grandparents??? What was under this decision?
Why do you think Spiegelman draws the characters of his book as animals? Do you think this, and the cartoon format in general, is an effective way of dealing with the subject matter?
I found this sketch of Art‘s dream in Meta Maus book. It seems that the difficulty of Vladek‘s character still chases him even after The Complete Maus was published. Did their relationship progress during the interviews? What kind of relationship it was? Did Art‘s feelings change?
Vladek and Anja had special relationship from the beginning. What particular story touched you the most? Why Vladek could not safe her from the suicide? What do you think really happened to Anja in the end of her life?
Why does Vladek ask Art not to write about Lucia in his book? Why doesn‘t Art listen to his father? Do you think it is right for Art to break his promise?
Rise and shine Littens ☀️ it‘s Aug. 8 time for our discussion about Maus.I would not ask you our first traditional question “did you like it or not” this time, because even if you don‘t like it,you still feel a good amount of sympathy to those who went through Holocaust.
Let‘s start with Art and Vladek relationships.Through those 👆🏻 panels which open the book that was your first expression about this family? How did it change through the book?
