This was an absolutely beautiful read. More than just a stereotypical rom-com, though it definitely was cute and funny. It was also absolutely heartbreaking at times as both main characters were dealing with tough family trauma. Both characters were written so well but Justin is everything. A top read of the year so far. 5⭐️

I really enjoyed the first book of this series, which was a very unique sci-fantasy horror. This feels totally different and nothing has happened the first third of the book and I‘m just bored so DNFing. I do highly recommend book 1, which can be read on its own though!

Nessavamusic @dabbe for sure! I‘m reading the new Abby Jimenez and it is a total slump buster! 2d

Overall, I‘m giving this 4⭐️
There are some really fantastic stories, in particular my favorites are: Kushtuka, White Hills, Wingless, Quantum & Collections.
There are also a couple that are not great, but most of these stories are solid. I definitely recommend & the book is beautiful!

Though a little slow paced, I enjoyed this new historical fantasy romance. Based on Viking mythology a woman who is fated to help win wars struggles through all the men manipulating her. I look forward to the next book in the series. Note that there is some romance in here, but it is a very slow burn. 4⭐️

A strange, beautiful, sad story about a couple who faces a tragic diagnosis and where they go from there. Going fairly blind is the best here. Note there are live stories, but not a romance. Though at the beginning of this book I had doubts, I loved this! 5⭐️

Well that‘s a bummer. I have liked some of Pam Godwin‘s dark books, but this one just isn‘t my jam. She is a good writer though, so this may appeal to others. My #bookspin pick off the TBR at least!

TheAromaofBooks Sometimes a book just isn't a match! Onto something better!!! 2w
CoverToCoverGirl That‘s unhappy news. I‘ve read almost all of her books. I was hoping this series would be something to anticipate. 2w

This is a wild ride of a thriller with a total gut punch of an ending. It‘s best to know very little going into this one. The twists and surprises are fantastic. It‘s not quite a 5 for me, but very close. 4.5⭐️

Super dark twisty serial killer. It is best to go in mostly blind, but there are many trigger warnings, specifically SA on page. Still, I could not stop listening to this story, though I felt like the ending could have been different, overall it was satisfying. 4⭐️

Overall, this was a fun read. This really reads like a series of three short stories that then connect at the end. It‘s a little bit of a homage to what I‘m guessing are the author‘s favorite movie tropes. It‘s not a perfect book, there are plot holes and the antagonists were mustache twirly and not particularly well developed. If you want a tropey, almost silly, horror thriller with “good for her” vibes you may like this. 4⭐️

I really enjoyed this new fantasy series. It felt quite original, taking place in a world where people have rebelled against Gods and because of this Godkillers are hired to deal with them. This definitely has Witcher vibes, but possible unpopular opinion - I liked it more. It was much more readable, but with strong world building. Also way better women characters. 4.5⭐️

This was a delightful sequel. Emily and Wendell go on a new adventure along with her niece and a curmudgeonly coworker. Many new fae are met and much adventure and mayhem occur. This is a cute middle grade Japanese folk based tale about fox who is forced into caring for an orphan tanuki. It is quite repetitive through each chapter of the volume, but that might be the norm for this younger age range. Cute, though not interesting enough for me to continue. 3.5⭐️

The Rom-Commers: A Novel | Katherine Center
post image

This was a funny, heartwarming and at times melancholy story of a writer who is a caretaker for her lovable father. She falls into assisting with a rewrite of a truly tragic rom-com by her screenwriting hero. Hilarity, a touch of miscommunication and love ensues. Like many of Katherine Center‘s books, the characters feel more genuine and flawed then typical romances and deal with serious issues in their lives.⬇️

Nessavamusic The main character drove me crazy at times, but her choices made sense from her perspective and history. The side characters are also cute, especially the dad - he is a delight. Another winner by Center. 5⭐️

I received this from NetGalley for an honest review.
