POV switches between many of the different characters. The book “grabbed” me from the start. It was hard to tell who was telling the truth and who wasn‘t, as well as who might be an unreliable narrator. Everyone had a secret. Had a twist at the end, as well as one about half-way through. As with Foley‘s other books that I‘ve read, I really liked this.

We have a snow storm coming so I think I‘m going to hunker down with this one that‘s been on my list for a while. #10of2025

My top read for January.

5✨ That was an amazing roller coaster. I thought for sure I knew what happened to Jess‘s brother,Ben, and who did it. Boy was I completely wrong! It kept me on the edge of my seat and luckily I was off work when I hit a really good spot where I couldn‘t stop. Who needs sleep anyways! I was completely floor when it all started to become more clear. This will be a recommended book if anyone needs a thriller. Wow! #FableBR

I started reading and then just didn‘t stop. I loved, loved, loved this one. When I thought I knew where the story was going, it twisted and had me saying “WTF” out loud on several occasions.
The changing points of view gave the story an extra edge and really built up the characters.

This guy is my new reading buddy. Continuing The Paris Apartment and I‘m not sure how I feel about it 100 pages in. The audiobook is helping me keep all the characters straight, though!

I read this book on the plane ride home after five days in Hawaii. The trip was great! This book was creepy. I‘m still not sure if I liked it. It kept me entertained on a five hour flight so that‘s good!

Jess‘s brother is missing and the place he was residing in seems full of secrets. Is someone in the building responsible? A cast of unlikeable characters, alternating time lines that were sometimes confusing, and just a lackluster storyline made this so so for me. The twist at the end though kind of redeemed the book! Just an OK read for me.

I hated every single character, which made reading this tough. If only one of the characters had redeemable qualities, it would have been much better. I LOVED The Hunting Party, so was super bummed with this one. (17)

This is a good mystery. It is not my favorite Lucy Foley and I do not need all of the French swear words and phrases translated (please. Google exists.) Otherwise this is quite great.

Well, what a twisty turny adventure this was. Full of little surprises that weren‘t expected. Everyone in the apartment is suspiciously quirky or give off the creep vibe, adding to the whole feel of the book. Short chapters from each characters perspective keeps it moving fast and interweaves their story so you don‘t know what, or who to believe.

I sense that maybe this shouldn't have been my first Lucy Foley—the previous two sound like it's more my speed. This felt way too long; protracted & melodramatic to the point of tedium. Multiple POVs can work so well in a thriller but you have to pull it off. All of these characters were incredibly irritating people. I love "unlikeable characters" but they must have some sort of depth or charm to pull you in. The resolution is pure fairy tale ?

Pretty good thriller/mystery set in an old ornate apartment building in Paris. Big twists to the story, some of it I had guessed very early on, others I hadn‘t. Cleverly structured, and I‘m sure the book group will have a lot to say.

Really enjoyed this one. The entire book read like a game of clue and I really enjoyed all the twists!!!

Though not my favorite of Foley‘s mysteries, I appreciated the setting here of this grand Parisian building brimming full of secrets. Jess arrives to find her older half brother missing from the address he gave her with only an abrupt voice note as a clue. Short chapters help manufacture the quick pace as each resident‘s secrets emerge. I wish I felt more invested in the characters— though the plot does hold some genuine surprises! #BOTMBacklog

Your classic mystery novel when you want something with twists and surprises but all adds up in the end. Enjoyable

It took me a while to really get into this and work out who everyone was, but once I did I found it a thrilling read. There were so many twists along the way and every chapter had some new reveal.

I found this completely gripping and such a page turner. Rosemary‘s Baby meets Thoroughly Modern Millie springs to mind, if only just the vibes. The apartment building even has a creepy laundry room in the basement complete with wine cellar. There are plenty of twists and turns. Full of oddball and eccentric characters, an entertaining plot line and with an atmospheric setting, this makes for a fun and riveting psychological thriller. I loved it.

Beach day!

Eh, I had high hopes because I loved The Guest List. But the writing was choppy and ths ending was too happy for me 🤷🏼‍♀️. I was expecting something darker and more sinister. I mean, you can‘t get much worse than their night club but…. I give this 3 stars, there‘s definitely a good mystery here but it‘s not Foley‘s best work. Book #44 in 2023

This one has more twists than a Twizzler, a saying I recently made up to describe the Murdaugh Murders docuseries. Like MM, The Paris Apartment features complicated relationships, illicit affairs, money, and power. In ny opinion, this is, by far, the best of Foley's four books to date.

You are meant to be staying with your brother in his paris apartment but when you get there he is no where to be found.An atmospheric twisty whodunit kind of read.A great thriller read filled with dark family secrets, family dysfunction,plot twists its everything you want in a thriller. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I quite liked this!
A thriller in which Jess turns up at her brothers apartment in Paris to find out he's missing despite speaking to her that very same day. Every occupier in the building, including the concierge, is very strange and is all hiding something.
There are plenty of twists throughout. Some, I did guess, but others I didn't see coming. Yes, it's a little unbelievable and has ridiculous parts, but I found it easy reading and enjoyable.

Okay thriller, but the plot was guessable in places.

I enjoyed Lucy Foley‘s other book, the guest list. It had a creepy vibe & you don‘t know who the murdered is. In this book Ben is missing, his sister is trying to find him, there‘s a whole cast of characters that are all just a bit off. I really liked how it all come together.

This started out promisingly but then devolved into utter stupidity and nonsense.

My favorite thing about this book was the casual drop of an artist‘s name. So I looked on google and found the referenced painting. I learned something 😊

The story was only okay.

Jess is broke and alone, and she‘s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn‘t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn‘t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up – to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this? – he‘s not there.

I read about halfway then gave up. I almost NEVER don't finish a book once I've started, but this one was just so disjointed and didn't reveal enough details to keep the reader engaged. The investment I had in it wasn't enough to sacrifice time better spent. Maybe it gets better, but most reviews I read suggested that it does not.

A dark and atmospheric mystery. I enjoyed the ending.
