While I wouldn‘t say these books completely knocked my socks off, they were sweet and cute and charming. I mean, come on, vegetable people! 😍 And the art—utterly adorable! #bookblanket
This webcomic was started in 2013. It follows the story of Patrik the Vampire, switching back and forth through several periods of his life. He is certainly a loveable, but flawed, character, and the story goes to some interesting places; however, the artist last posted about three and a half years ago, so who knows if it will continue. Do you have a favorite webcomic that was never concluded?

I am so excited for #AuldLangSpine with @WildAlaskaBibliophile. She has sent me a list of 20 books to read. Out of the list I have read the tagged book, and Weyward. One of my goals this year is to get more books from the library, I am going to try to read from the bottom of the list to the top:
The list is in the comments.
Thank you to @monalyisha for hosting this!
Cute middle grade graphic novel. The interaction between these characters is cute. I think novel will be a good resource to discussed different topics with the young ones, like the expression and management of different emotions, friendship, how to resolve conflict etc. I know the palette of colors could be described as one that is in accordance to autumn season but I think is a little too dark to appreciate some detail 3/3.5⭐️
I first read these graphic novels last year, and they‘re just as cute, adorable and cozy on a second reading. And the color palette is so autumnal
Books about friendships, adventure, change and overcoming your fears
I was able to get in two more for #gnreadathon for @JenlovesJT47 / #birthdaybashreadathon for @TheAromaofBooks
Beneath the Trees: Reminded me of Dexter, but with adorable anthropomorphic animals
Garlic and the Vampire: An adorably anxious anthropomorphic vegetable is called upon to investigate a possible vampire
#spookoween @TheSpineView
Really cute and a little spooky. I think this is recommended for middle grade but I took a chance and read it with my toddler 🫣 Her favorite character was Carrot.
This is actually the first book in the Garlic series.
In this book all the vegetable people are nervous because a vampire has moved in. They send Garlic to confront the vampire because all the stories say that vampire‘s and garlic don‘t mix, so they think Garlic will be safe.
Again, it‘s cute a cozy, a quick read and super happy.

I am absolutely in love with the story and art style of this book!
Garlic is just so adorable and yet courageous to have gone on this adventure that has been forced upon her by her "friends". With nothing more than a will to listen and by being her kind self was able to figure out what she needed to do to help everyone.
"I'm a BLOOD orange! I'm done for!"
Even vegetables are not immune to fears of vampires...
Adorable story about facing your fears, being brave and resisting prejudices and catastrophizing. Garlic is a very relatable vegetable and has a sweet supportive friendship with Carrot. When the vegetables fear that a vampire has moved back to the castle, Garlic is chosen to vanquish it despite her misgiving.
Still obsessed with all things cozy? Me too!

Books about overcoming fear, doing what you fear and going on journeys.
I loved the autumnal feel to the color palette and the coziness of these graphic stories.
This seems familiar. I‘m also a heavy sleeper, and at times I have been told that I‘m impossible to wake
Adorable! Turns out my aversion to anthropomorphized food doesn‘t extend to foods with a logical creation story. 😜 A sweet tale of bravery, friendship, and the perils of making assumptions. Oh, and gardening. 💚
This is a nice story about prejudices and overcoming them. I would have liked a deeper story but since is a book for kids it was okay. The drawings are beautiful and the isea of using vegetables as characters is a interesting one as well because this way Garlic can march to face the Vampire. 😜
Smoke comes from the abandoned castle, “something TERRIBLE must be in there.” - Yeah, sure, first thing that comes to mind. 🤣🤣🤣
i'm very late on posting the books i finished in june '23, but 'twas a solid month.
the garlic & the vampire/witch duology is everything. 5 stars, no notes, more please.
4.5 stars for cultish and uprooted.
4 stars for let your hearts be light, glitterland, and tea at the end of the world.
3 stars for never have i ever gone skinny dipping.
Highly recommend starting the weekend with a graphic novel.
Cute, quick read about overcoming fears for the good of all and learning that people (vampires especially 😉) may not be what they seem.
Did I read a book about an anxiety ridden garlic bulb who tries to fight a vampire? Yes I did. Was she the most precious little garlic bulb to ever exist? Yes, she was. All the fluff, and all the hugs.
Pungently Cozy, Warm, and Sweet ☺️

GARLIC FEELS AS THOUGH SHE'S ALWAYS DOING THE WRONG THING
No matter how much her friend Carrot and kindly Witch Agnes encourage her, Garlic just wants to tend her own garden, where it's nice and safe.
But when the village of vegetable people learns that a bloodthirsty vampire may have moved into the nearby castle, they all agree that, despite her fear and self-doubt, Garlic is the obvious choice to confront him.
What a cute graphic novel for middle graders about overcoming one's fears. I already put a hold for the second book at my local library ;)
A very short, sweet, cozy fantasy read! Gorgeous artwork with the wonderful message of not judging people before you get to know them.
Time for another set of book cover - yarn pairings from my recent readings! Garlic and the Vampire goes pretty well with this Scheepjes Wanderlust colourway, don't you think? #litsycrafters #booksandyarn
This book is so STINKIN' adorable (...pun intended...;)

Who knew I would love a story about the adventures of a bunch of vegetables?
This was adorable. The story is amusing and I love the illustrations.
Guess that means I might need my own copy. 🤔🤣
This is a painfully adorable book where the lives of a witch and her sentient fruits and vegetables are interrupted when a vampire moves to town…Garlic gets voluntold to face the vampire on her own…what will happen?? You‘ll get a cavity because of the sweetness. For me, it was nice but not my overall thing…so I won‘t be borrowing the recently released sequel!
#scarathlon #teammonstermash #bookspinbingo #spookoween #31by31
I know it's a kids book and i'm over thinking it but there's something not quite right about anthropomorphic vegetables planting, harvesting, and selling versions of themselves... 😅
Love this adorable book!

A little lunch fun reading. I‘m entranced so far… and the blood orange just cracked me up 😝
Thank you @Bookwormjillk for this fun #spookysummerswap preparing me for Fall ❤️ the book does look good!
This made me sooo happy! It‘s a simple story, every aspect of which is realized perfectly. I can easily see this becoming one of my annual fall reads. #PopSugar2022 #TakesPlaceInYourFavoriteSeason #LGBTQBookBingo #GreenCover @Kenyazero
Drank to much caffeine to make it until midnight, therefore cant sleep … so first read of 2022 complete!
This was a sweet graphic novel and will reread with my son soon.
Happy New Year!
1. the tagged book was so adorable! Some other books I read were fun, but this one is a clear winner 🧡
2. writing 2022 on everything at work 😂 I don't know, honestly.. getting started on all the reading/movie challenges I have planned?
#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView
This was too cute! Garlic was very relatable, but Carrot was freaking adorable 😍 very sweet story about humanoid veggies and a vampire, not judging people before you know them, and being brave. Really loved the art in here, too!
