Read this while hiding from the news last night. Super cute, though I didn't like it as much as the first, mostly because the plot point about Garlic's hands was not explained and took me half the book to figure it out.

This was a graphic novel that was fast to read. I enjoyed it well enough but didn‘t love it like I was expecting to. I can‘t put my finger on why. The ending felt a little predictable/normative? But it‘s a cute story about vegetables brought to life by a witch and how they feel about becoming more human-like. 🤷🏻♀️
I‘m sorry do y‘all see how cute this book is?!?!
Garlic is literally a garlic bulb brought to life by a witch to help her in the garden. Whilst grappling with getting more humanoid Garlic goes on an adventure with Count, their local vampire to the night market.
It‘s cute, it‘s cozy, it‘s a super fast read and I would recommend it to any and everyone
Sweet. Garlic finds herself grappling with a big change - she may be turning human! - and on an adventure with her friend the Count.
The first resonated more for me. This one felt a little more on-the-nose about puberty.
As so many people have said before me, this book was so freaking CUTE, if not cuter than the first. This duology is the most adorable series about believing in yourself, embracing change, and being open to adventure. It's a super quick read and I HIGHLY recommend it!
Okay I didn't think it was possible but this was even cuter than the first book! Garlic goes on a new adventure away from her little village and internally struggles with the changes that are happening to her and her vegetable friends. I loved seeing anxious Garlic come into her own! I hope this series continues 🧄❤️

I was really looking forward to the second part of Garlic but somehow I ended up not liking very mich. The backstory of why the witch has vegetable friends could have been used as a flashback but was put at the beginning without any further explanation. And the coming off age story was a nice idea but tells me there won‘t be any other Garlic stories
Somehow this scene in the dark forrest is reminding me of The Lord of the Rings. I am expecting the trees to wake up on the next page. 😱
So wholesome. Just like pure sunshine, it encourages growth and leaves you with a warm feeling. Love the message, love the art, love the many moments it takes just to be adorable, accepting. I sincerely hope there's another entry focusing on Celery's journey.
Pungently Cozy, Warm, and Sweet ☺️

My pictures don‘t nearly do it justice but I loved this second book in Garlic‘s adventures. Highly recommended.
Such a cute graphic novel for middle graders. Just like with the first book in the series, Garlic goes on a little adventure where she has to overcome her fears.
These are the most adorable characters! The story and message is so sweet and I love the art work. I hope a third one is coming.
Loved this cozy fantasy graphic novel - Garlic is still an anxious over thinker with a kind heart - and in this volume she goes on an adventure with the Count to the Magic Market - and comes to realise that change isn‘t all scary.
Love the illustrations, love the vibe, love the randomness of a story about vegetables growing up to be human.
I didn‘t adore this one the same way I did with the first, but still an awesome read with fun art and a heartwarming vibe. #Scarathlon2022 #TeamMonsterMash @StayCurious #Spookoween2022 @TheSpineView #31by31 @Catsandbooks #PointsAThon @dieareader @GHABI4ROSES #OutstandingOctober @andrew65 #witchathon @mdm139
