“At night Kira still goes around the house, counting their children.
One, two, three.
Two in their beds. One in heaven.”

Ready to spend some more time in Beartown on this beautiful day.
About to start Bear Town! I loved* A Man Called Ove, hoping this one is good!
Yep. I‘m going to extremely dislike the protagonist. Just starting out and I‘m already in dismay.
One of my favorites to teach. Starting it currently in my Honors English II!
Ok, so this wasn‘t my favorite. I thought the ideas were solid, just the writing didn‘t feel executed very well. Instead of a slow realization and everything falling into place, it felt haphazardly pieced together at the last second.
Loved it! Had me going until the end. Very similar to Girl on a Train. Protagonist has faults, as do other characters in the book, but you can‘t help but turn pages until you find out who the killer is.
I thought that since I enjoyed reading The Lovely Bones that I would also like this by the same author. Oh man. The main character is extremely dislikable. And, it‘s more than likely designed to make the reader cringe and dislike this very odd and twisted woman, but I could not construe a single shred of sympathy for her. A bunch of running around with dark thoughts strewn about.
I loved the concept, but felt the book was overall pretty slow. It was bogged down with a lot of unnecessary detail. I loved the characters and their individuals trials, Phoebe and Caroline were my favorites.
Definitely can relate to Norah‘s loss. And I‘m sure the reactions of her acquaintances will be quite similar to when/if I am blessed with another child. “No one else will say a word about her. They act like since I have Paul, I ought to be satisfied. Like lives are interchangeable.”
I‘m about 60 pages in and I‘m really not loving this. I liked The Lovely Bones by Sebold but this is definitely not my forte presently.
I think I‘ve figured out a “twist” pretty early on in this book. If it is a twist, it was laid out pretty obviously. So maybe it‘s misleading me...
Fawkes is joining me in my Harry Potter themed classroom! #harrypotter #englishclass
I was so touched by Ove. More touched than I ever thought I could be starting this book out. Not only did I fall in love with Ove, but I fell in love with Sonja, and the whole cast of characters Ove finds himself in the middle of. I loved Ove for his struggles and my heart was broken for him. This quote in particular touched me, as I‘m a teacher and lost my own child. Love this book!
My awesome friend/colleague ordered this bag for my books for Christmas! Puppy paw included for additional cuteness. #amancalledove #puppypower #loveit
