The #1 New York Times Bestselling Series! In this third book in Marissa Meyer's bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they're plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and prevent her army from invading Earth.Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl trapped on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she's being forced to work for Queen Levana, and she's just received orders to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice. When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is splintered. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price than she'd ever expected. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai, especially the cyborg mechanic. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

Think this is my favorite in the series. I adore Cress. She has such a unique view on the world. Been in her satellite for 11 years with her mistress being the only human companion. Shows a good way of her mental episodes from being overwhelmed. She doesn‘t know how to cope. I feel bad for Wolf so much. For the varying of characters and plot lines, they all came together really well.

Such a good book. Took a little bit to read because of stuff unrelated. Loved Thorne in this one. Cress was also amazing and was badass in her own kinda way. But like ONE KISS?? THATS IT? Can‘t wait to see how the love story progresses in the next one. Cinder was amazing as always and loved her chapters. Wolf gave me heart problems when he lost his alpha. Absolutely loved this one❤️. 4⭐️

I liked it! Some of the romance storylines are a little more YA than I typically like, but the story is really picking up now! Plus it checks the box for this month‘s #FairyTaleReadingChallenge @Charityann

Yay!! I finally finished this #AlmostaChunkster !! I absolutely loved it, so my slow reading speed was definitely not a reflection of my enjoyment! This series is really picking up momentum. Meyer does a fabulous job balancing the different characters and their stories. I am not even sure who I love the most. (Okay, probably Thorne haha) I also think that she captures the themes of each fairy tale so well. Finishing this one wash main goal for ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) #MarvellousMay so everything else this week is just gravy 😂 I am hoping to finish at least two more books, but we will see how the week unwinds!! Next up, a random draw from the windowsill before reading Fairest - even though it was published after the rest of the series, I've seen a lot of recommendations to read it between Cress and Winter to get the full background of Levana, so I'm going for it!

#MarvellousMay starts tomorrow. May has been SUPER busy for me as the weather has finally broken and we have been trying to get things caught up in the gardens as almost nothing productive happened during our wet, cold April. Anyway, all that to say that I have not gotten nearly as much reading done as usual! My big goal for next week is to actually read the tagged book. My chapter-a-day books are hogging up a lot of my reading time with not a ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) lot leftover! Thanks for hosting @Andrew65 !!! 7mo

This is the 3rd book in the Lunar Chronicles(highly recommend) and details Cress‘s escape from her Satellite prison with the help of Cinder and the rest of her team. Their plan fails however because of an unexpected guest, and the group is separated. Cress and Captain Thorne(whom she‘s in love with) adventure across the dessert where they eventually reunite with Cinder, Wolf, Iko and Dr Erland. Scarlet remains in the hands of a Lunar family.

Kristina.Gonsalvez They then plan to infiltrate and stop Emperor Kai‘s wedding to Lunar Queen Levana to declare Cinder‘s true identity as the lost Princess Selene. If you like books that are fantasy, sci-fi and involve dystopian world building with lots of action, adventure and a touch of romance, you would enjoy this series. If you like adventure and a slow burn romance you would love the characters and plot of this specific book in the series. 8mo
Kristina.Gonsalvez This novel is told from a third person omniscient point of view. This is seen chapter by chapter as the viewpoint changes to whoever the chapter revolves around. The narrator is not one of the characters themselves, and is outside of them but still stating the thoughts or feelings associated with their inner consciousnesses. 8mo
MissYaremcio Nicely done Kristina! I love this series! 6/6 8mo

Excellent continuation to the Lunar chronicles series! Although the glimpses you get of Winter make me a little nervous about reading that one… However it was lovely to see Cress and Thorne develop their relationship.

I think we didn‘t get to know Cress as good as Scarlet & Cinder, and the plot of both Scarlet & Cress are kind of the same and who is going to be the love interest is VERY predictable, but this series remains fast-pacing and exciting!

I‘ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately, so I‘ve turned to two of my favorite Marissa Meyer stories. If you haven‘t read the Renegades trilogy or the Lunar Chronicles yet, you need to stop what you are doing and read them now. 100 stars out of five.

Another great book in this series! Cress is a shell, which just means she has no magic, and was abandoned as a baby. Even without lunar magic though, Cress can do impressive things with anything electronic. The action really takes off when Cress meets Cinder, Scarlet, and Wolf.

Meyer keeps adding things I'm not expecting to the story and it just makes me love this series even more.

I love how each new addition in the series becomes the focal point weaved into the main story.
Cress was sweet and incredibly naive. It was fun seeing Cress grow in the last two books though. My other favorite thing about Cress‘ book is that we got a lot more of Captain Thorne than normal. I really liked the captain, he was a rogue and kinda shameless but he was Cinder‘s first ally (after Iko) and he was an important part of Cinder‘s circle

This third story brought me back into loving this world. The second book was not bad, but didn‘t interest me as much as the first. This one ties in another backstory you didn‘t know you needed. There is heartbreak, loss of body parts, and a goofy maybe romance? Either way I‘m in love again with this series!

Cress is definitely worth the read, in my opinion it was much better than book two, Scarlet. I'm interested now to read the fourth book in the series to see what happens next, but also as we get a better look at Luna and Princess Winter. Perhaps it will reveal why Lunars are so different to Earthens, maybe there is something about Luna that changes. Hopefully Marissa Meyer's good writing will continue and it will be just as enjoyable as Cress was.

I love this series more and more - I never would've thought that. Happily, I've got some great friends who recommend great books to me.

Meyer writes characters you befriend and you care about. At least I do. That's why I get sucked into those books, whenver I continue reading. Having only one main book left scares me a little...

First goal for #JoysofJune down! I have finished the third Lunar Chronicles book, which completes a bingo space as well. Starting the page count with today‘s reading.

Yesterday I had a malfunctioning smoke detector driving me insane. Today the kiddo and I have to go pick up a replacement and then I will install it. Should be buckets of fun.

ravenlee As for the book itself, the series continues to be ok. Good premise, some good characters; too much coincidence, Cinder is getting caught up in the “chosen one” belief, and please someone teach Marissa Meyer basic grammar! (edited) 2y

Finish current read-aloud with the kiddo (The Bravest Princess, 3rd Wide-Awake Princess book)
Read at least one Shakespeare story with the kiddo
