Cress | Marissa Meyer
The #1 New York Times Bestselling Series! In this third book in Marissa Meyer's bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they're plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and prevent her army from invading Earth.Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl trapped on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she's being forced to work for Queen Levana, and she's just received orders to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice. When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is splintered. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price than she'd ever expected. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai, especially the cyborg mechanic. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

Cress was a great continuation of the Lunar Chronicles series! This Rapunzel is locked in a satellite. I loved the nonstop action moving from chapter to chapter. I was so tickled to learn in the author interview at the end that she‘s a Firefly fan and got some inspiration for this series from there.

I checked today and discovered I started this series in 2016! Then I read the 2nd in 2020. No, I refuse to wait until 2028 to finish the series! It‘s too good!
For now, my goal is just to finish the last 248 pages by Sunday night so I can get a #bookspin book read and a #bookspinbingo !

Book 3 of the Lunar Series is full of action and new characters-- a band of misfits who prepare to take on the wicked queen, but first they need to have a plan. Kidnapping the prince sounds about right. With just the right amount of romance, this book has me rooting for the good guys.

Oh my goodness! I highly enjoyed this one! I really liked the new characters and I enjoyed Cinder more. Captain Thorne was a riot and Cress was absolutely sweet. There was so much action and I even teared up at the doctor's confession. It was not a perfect book but it is so far my favorite from the series. I can't wait to read the next one! 4.5 ⭐️

Rapunzel is a hacker and her tower prison is a satellite out in space in this incredibly clever, fun, sharp, and exciting third installment of the Lunar Chronicles. This was my favorite yet—because of the character of Cress herself. Her sensitivity and wonder provide such a foil for Meyer‘s streetwise Cinder and Scarlet. They‘re all lovable though! I love how Meyer plays with the key elements of the original fairy tales in her sci-fi setting.

This is my first finished read of the new year! I haven't picked up a book from the Lunar Chronicles in quite a while. This being the 3rd book in the series I was surprisingly able to remember all the characters thanks to Marissa Meyer's simple writing style and her playing back moments throughout the book, which I really appreciated. This one is full of action and some romances are starting to unravel as well.

Absolutely loving my Lunar Chronical reread! Cress is so freaking cute and IKO and Throne are still just the best comic relief. I love all moments when it was just them hanging out on the ship. Kai and Cinder reunions still one of my favs and I really love their snarky responses to everyone.

Ruthiella I think Marissa Meyer‘s dialogue is fantastic. So snappy! 2y

Think this is my favorite in the series. I adore Cress. She has such a unique view on the world. Been in her satellite for 11 years with her mistress being the only human companion. Shows a good way of her mental episodes from being overwhelmed. She doesn‘t know how to cope. I feel bad for Wolf so much. For the varying of characters and plot lines, they all came together really well.

Such a good book. Took a little bit to read because of stuff unrelated. Loved Thorne in this one. Cress was also amazing and was badass in her own kinda way. But like ONE KISS?? THATS IT? Can‘t wait to see how the love story progresses in the next one. Cinder was amazing as always and loved her chapters. Wolf gave me heart problems when he lost his alpha. Absolutely loved this one❤️. 4⭐️

Yay!! I finally finished this #AlmostaChunkster !! I absolutely loved it, so my slow reading speed was definitely not a reflection of my enjoyment! This series is really picking up momentum. Meyer does a fabulous job balancing the different characters and their stories. I am not even sure who I love the most. (Okay, probably Thorne haha) I also think that she captures the themes of each fairy tale so well. Finishing this one wash main goal for ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) #MarvellousMay so everything else this week is just gravy 😂 I am hoping to finish at least two more books, but we will see how the week unwinds!! Next up, a random draw from the windowsill before reading Fairest - even though it was published after the rest of the series, I've seen a lot of recommendations to read it between Cress and Winter to get the full background of Levana, so I'm going for it!

This is the 3rd book in the Lunar Chronicles(highly recommend) and details Cress‘s escape from her Satellite prison with the help of Cinder and the rest of her team. Their plan fails however because of an unexpected guest, and the group is separated. Cress and Captain Thorne(whom she‘s in love with) adventure across the dessert where they eventually reunite with Cinder, Wolf, Iko and Dr Erland. Scarlet remains in the hands of a Lunar family.

Kristina.Gonsalvez They then plan to infiltrate and stop Emperor Kai‘s wedding to Lunar Queen Levana to declare Cinder‘s true identity as the lost Princess Selene. If you like books that are fantasy, sci-fi and involve dystopian world building with lots of action, adventure and a touch of romance, you would enjoy this series. If you like adventure and a slow burn romance you would love the characters and plot of this specific book in the series. 3y
Kristina.Gonsalvez This novel is told from a third person omniscient point of view. This is seen chapter by chapter as the viewpoint changes to whoever the chapter revolves around. The narrator is not one of the characters themselves, and is outside of them but still stating the thoughts or feelings associated with their inner consciousnesses. 3y
MissYaremcio Nicely done Kristina! I love this series! 6/6 3y

I think we didn‘t get to know Cress as good as Scarlet & Cinder, and the plot of both Scarlet & Cress are kind of the same and who is going to be the love interest is VERY predictable, but this series remains fast-pacing and exciting!

Another great book in this series! Cress is a shell, which just means she has no magic, and was abandoned as a baby. Even without lunar magic though, Cress can do impressive things with anything electronic. The action really takes off when Cress meets Cinder, Scarlet, and Wolf.

Meyer keeps adding things I'm not expecting to the story and it just makes me love this series even more.

I love how each new addition in the series becomes the focal point weaved into the main story.
Cress was sweet and incredibly naive. It was fun seeing Cress grow in the last two books though. My other favorite thing about Cress‘ book is that we got a lot more of Captain Thorne than normal. I really liked the captain, he was a rogue and kinda shameless but he was Cinder‘s first ally (after Iko) and he was an important part of Cinder‘s circle

This third story brought me back into loving this world. The second book was not bad, but didn‘t interest me as much as the first. This one ties in another backstory you didn‘t know you needed. There is heartbreak, loss of body parts, and a goofy maybe romance? Either way I‘m in love again with this series!
