This was a weird book for me. While I respect what this book did for the genre, I couldn't get passed that the main character kept saying how innocent and childlike the girl from the future was that he was sleeping with.

A great book that explores gender and society on a different world.
I thought this was a cute book and I liked the friendship plot of the story.
I think I had extremely high expectations for this book and a lot of it wasn't met. It's less than 100 pages and packs a lot into it. There wasn't a lot of detail in the world building itself. I liked the main character. She was solid but other characters and places just didn't have a fleshed out feeling. Writing was solid, I just wish there had been more.
A cute and fun book. You can view my full review here: https://thereturncart.com/2018/11/26/book-review-to-all-the-boys-ive-loved-befor...
A book about elections, subterfuge, and voting. I enjoyed this book muchly. The world building is well thought out. Mishima is amazing.
This is the second book in the Wayward Children series. It is about Jack and Jill and their adventure to The Moors which seems to be the home of a type of Dr. Frankenstein and Dracula. Well written. I loved this book.
A. Lee Martinez weaves a fantastic story of monsters and humans and our nature.
This novella was so well crafted. Based on fairy tales. Great plot and character development. I just love the writing.
Interesting look at gods/goddesses. Loved the character development. Set in South Africa.
The third episode of the podcast The Return Cart is up. We do a review of the book Implanted and interview the author. Can be found here: https://thereturncart.com/the-podcast-episodes/
Suspenseful and full of killer mermaids, this book exceeded my expectations. It's really good. Great character development.
I liked the overall story. There are some issues I had which almost made this a so-so. For example, the author does lead to some stereotypes which makes it hard to see certain characters as whole. There could also be a better conclusion at the end.
I love this book. There isn't a BIG plot (like, no monsters....) but it was a good story. A true science fiction in that it was fiction featuring scientists.
First legit chic lit. It was pretty good. Wish there was more detail on Chloe's past and how it was resolves but overall a good read.
I listened to the audiobook version. It was a great read. Though all the characters were flawed in big ways, I still cared about them as I read. Great writing.
People being horrible and a mystery! Intriguing characters and compelling plot. I was hooked.
Greetings everyone! I am making a podcast! The site is thereturncart.com :) I have posted the first episode. I would be deeply appreciative if you take a listen. Thank you!
Implanted is a novel where civilization (at least in the USA) has to live in domed cities. Peoole can use the internet with their eyes and the main character likes to place VR games. She also happens to work for a company that transfers data through blood. I like the action and the world building. Intriguing premise and now am wondering if there will be a sequel.
I decided to give this book a try because I've seen a lot about it. Really, it comes down to me giving into reading things my younger self would have liked. It was okay. Cats with human like personalities and being divided into Clans. Humans are still a thing in thus universe but they aren't featured.
Jane Lindskold has a way of world building and character interactions that I love. This sci-fi novel of a planet once used as a vacation hot spot for the rich is engaging.
A post-apocalyptic novel with mystery, Bannerless is set in a time where society has been restructured after everything goes to hoo-ha. People have to prove they are able to care for a child before they are allowed to have one (in which they are entitled a banner to prove they are allowed).
This book kept me hooked. I read it in a few days. The pace isn't too hurried but not so slow that I'm wondering if there is a plot. Characters relatable.
This book is about a man who is in prison for killing his girlfriend and the rehabilitation he goes through. There are interesting ideas that kept me reading. Writing style wasn't my preference in which the scene wasn't set in detail so sometimes I got a little lost and had to reread paragraphs.
The fourth installment of the Firekeeper series introduces new characters and settings. Great pacing and involving magic.
I got a gift card as an early birthday present from the love of my life. I don't know which one to start with!
This was a nice look at the Star Trek universe after DS9. It would have been nice to read some of the before events of Garak becoming castellan. However, it did not take away from the story. Garak is still the clever Cardassian.
Reading in bed. :) Garak, you sly Cardassian.
The Dragon of Despair is the third installment of the Firekeeper series. The plot weaves well with the rest of the series. Love the characters and their development.
1. It used to be bi-monthly but now it is at random.
2. Ceasar salad dressing
3. Bake - even though I am horrid at it.
4. Yes. I shouldn't but can't seem to help myself.
5. I don't really have one at the top of my head but I do love fantasy books with feasts!

Book not pictured that I'm currently reading is The Dragon of Despair by Jane Lindskold.
This stack is my July TBR. A lot by Jane Lindskold but hey, she is an awesome writer. :) I don't know if I will finish all of them but I'm gonna give it my best effort.
Is it rude to bring your own book into a library? I just need a place to chill out for half an hour.
A fun magical look into London and a self help group called Magicals Anonymous. Colorful characters and a well paced plot.
... and thought of a cynical remark that had been made to her, that she was standing upon the brink of the pit of hell and throwing in snowballs to lower the temperature.
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair
The second installment to the Firekeeper series is strong plot wise and character development. I think people could read it as a standalone but I, of course, recommend reading the first book as well:Through Wolf's Eyes.
If you like talking animals (even if it is limited) and political intrigue, this book may be for you. There is a gal who gets raised by wolves but that just makes it better.
Currently Reading "Stray Souls" by Kate Griffin. A little over a hundred pages in and loving it so far. :)
