Into the Fire
Into the Fire: A Night Prince Novel | Jeaniene Frost
22 posts | 33 read | 15 to read
In the explosive finale to New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frosts Night Prince series, Vlad is in danger of losing his bride to an enemy whose powers might prove greater than the Prince of Vampires . . .In the wrong hands, love can be a deadly weapon For nearly six hundred years, Vlad Tepesh cared for nothing, so he had nothing to lose. His brutal reputation ensured that all but the most foolhardy stayed away. Now, falling in love with Leila has put him at the mercy of his passions. And one adversary has found a devastating way to use Vlads new bride against him. A powerful spell links Leila to the necromancer Mircea. If he suffers or dies, so does she. Magic is forbidden to vampires, so Vlad and Leila enlist an unlikely guide as they search for a way to break the spell. But an ancient enemy lies in wait, capable of turning Vlad and Leilas closest friends against them . . . and finally tearing the lovers apart forever.

Well, the series is done and now I don‘t know what to do with myself. I‘m going to miss Vlad and Leila and the rest of the crew. I guess I‘ll just have to settle for the rest of Jeaniene Frost‘s catalogue! All in all, a ridiculously fun, frequently sexy, totally engrossing series of vampire action that made me laugh more than once. Do recommend if #paranormalromance is your jam, or you want to dip a toe in! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Bookgirl Added. Every now and then I love a good romance! 5y

This is the last of 4 yummy books I wasted no time devouring. If you enjoy hard headed paranormal male/female protagonists that steam up the pages you are reading -- then Tada!

Feast your eyes on Oded Fehr! (The 'Vlad' I envisioned)

Warning: Hardcore Alpha male syndrome. He makes you want to throttle him and kiss him all at the same time.

JulieAnn Loved him in The Mummy movies! 7y

I satisfying wrap-up to this spin-off series. I never really loved this spin off series the way I did the original, or the standalone spinoffs, something about them as a couple never really grew on me, but I loved the Ian and Vlad testy sarcastic flare-ups. And I can't wait for the Ian book that's bound to be in the works with that set up by the end. And hey, that's another series I'm caught up with.... well until she writes Ian's book. 😉

Gezemice Hmm, half-naked washboard abs man on cover - is this a romance novel? 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice Technically a Paranormal Romance novel (but yes), the last in a spin-off series. That would be Vlad (who hates the name Dracula) who is a very possessive ancient vampire, and just as ruthless as his rumored history hints at. Not my favorite of her spin-off books, but I did enjoy her Night Huntress series 7y
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I see. Well we found a genre you like but I don't care for, lol. Not twins in everything! Although Dracula is on my list, but that's because it is a classic, not because it is a vampire novel. 7y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice I read Dracula last year or the year before, I'll be interested to see what you think about that one. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice Yep, I need my fluff on occasion. I belong to a book club online that just reads Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, Fantasy, and YA Fantasy. Some of their picks I love, some are bails for me.... but I read Dresden, Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games, Kate Daniels, and Fever because of their urging and loved them... unfortunately I also read a few doozies like 50 Shades of Grey (at least I can gripe about it among like minded people, LOL) 7y
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I like lighter reads, too, loved the Hunger Games and Game of Thrones, although I would not call them fluff, there is some heavy stuff in there. I like some Discworld and some humor or graphic novels to lighten things. 7y
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I just started listening to it, only 15 minutes in but love the style! I am Hungarian and familiar with some of the setting so I keep mentally correcting the errors, lol. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice No, I wouldn't consider them fluff either, I was just saying that the group has led me to some good fluff and some great reads that I might not have tried otherwise. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice That is one problem about books set in place you know. 7y

I loved Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series and still read the spin-offs such as Vlad's. I definitely think this cover qualifies for the #aprilbookshowers #muscles prompt! 😂😂

Because Dracula deserves a HEA just like everyone else. Vlad quickly became my favorite character in the Night Huntress series so of course I had to pick up his spinoff series.

As the final book in the series, I am disappointed. Was it #5 I'd be ok. I didn't feel anything final in the story. Too many loose ends dangling. The writing was good and the hint of Vlad that we knew and loved from the NH series was great but over all just ok.

Saying goodbye to Vlad and Leila is bittersweet. I loved their HEA and also sad that this will be their last book.

Fortunately, we get a new series starring Ian! So YAZZ to more spin off series and I HOPE to more of my favorite vamp power couple, Cat and Bones!

Into the fire really wrapped up the series well. The villain is really interesting and not who you are expecting.

BTW, LISTEN to the FANTABULOUS audio read by the amazing Tavia Gilbert!

I loved seeing the humor come back to the series with this installment... plus my favorite scamp, Ian, featured heavily. Tavia Gilbert does an excellent job with this narration. http://bambi-unbridled.blogspot.com/2017/03/audiobook-review-into-fire-by-jeanie...

I'm so glad that I went back to the beginning of Vlad and Leila's story. I do much better binge reading series than waiting a year or more between books. I loved this series!🖤🔥🦇 also I'm extremely excited to read Ian's story! I love that smart ass douche😁

As one bookseller put it, I do have eclectic taste. The Patriots and The Radium Girls are on my NetGalley shelf. Into The Fire is pure escapism of my favorite kind. And I'm super excited for the other two based on her past work and an interview I heard him give. #2017mostanticipated #seasonsreadings2016 #happybibliophage #eclectictasteinbooks
