This is probably the most compact of the three books in the Promise Falls trilogy, so it might be my favourite. It made me suspicious of the tap water at my office and has prompted me to want to re-read the other Promise Falls books, so it's a Pick.

I took way too long to read this book and it became hard to follow and keep all the perspectives straight. Although I do like Linwood Barclay and the plot was suspenseful.

This was a hum-zinger of a book with almost every chapter ending with a cliff hanger. I loved the fast pace. At times I did feel like I needed to sit down and diagram all the characters as the point of view changed frequently. Overall, I greatly enjoyed.

Pleased to be able to race through the last two in this series whilst away. Elegantly plotted with plenty of inter connecting characters and storylines this kept my attention right to the bitter end. Also works for a number of the #maymadness #mayacavengerhunt prompts !

Digging into the final part of the Promise Falls Trilogy (before it‘s due back at the library). Hopefully we‘ll get some answers as to what is going on in that town!

RadicalReader I absolutely love the stories about creepy towns best there is 6y

I really wanted to like this book - and I did enjoy most of it, but, as this is the third book in the Promise Falls Trilogy, there was a lot of re-visiting for those who hadn‘t read the earlier books or had forgotten. Also when we ended up with Celeste, Cal & Crystal all together there were too many initial Cs. That said, the conclusion was clever & I didn‘t see it coming.

This is a good trilogy, some of the other books are very hit or miss.

I gave this novel 5 stars because over the series the story became more complicated but was clear to the reader. Not all questions were answered so am hoping for another book. Excellent.

A fast entertaining read. Satisfactory ending, but I think 3 books in the series wasn't really necessary.

November turned out to be a decent reading month, even with the post election slump. Thanks to Litsy, I know I am not the only one with that issue. I used the library a lot this month, another thing I can blame on Litsy. ❤️

DebinHawaii Great job! Yay for the library and Litsy too! 📚👍😀 8y

Short chapters full of lots of twists and turns plus a bunch of memorable characters made this a page-turner of a read. A great end to a riveting and compelling trilogy.

Bookladylinda I need to read this trilogy, love Linwood Barclays!!! 8y

A lot of twists and turns before the ending. Good stuff, the series would be good to read in one go so you don't forget all the previous twists and turns!!

Three hours of travelling for work today, would usually be made up with reading time. However, I'm travelling with someone I don't know, do I just read, say do you mind if I read or just make small talk!!? aghhh #booknerdproblems

Texreader I suggest you ask them if they mind if you read and then hope they'd rather do the same or play on their device or something. Good luck! 8y
TrishB @Texreader 😀 luckily enough we have separate reserved seats!! Problem solved. 8y
Texreader @TrishB Brilliant!! 8y

LiaMahony Nice. Always that awkward moment to make small talk. Glad it worked out for you. 8y
LauraBrook Excellent, what a great problem solver! I was going to say make polite small talk for a few minutes and then ask if it's okay for you to read, but what happened was so much easier! 👍🏻 8y
TrishB @LiaMahony @LauraBrook All worked out 😀 about to travel back now. 2 hours reading time on the train! 8y

Read a couple of emotionally draining books recently so onto a thriller for a breather! I find Barclay is either very good or exceptionally poor!!

MyNamesParadise I agree with that assessment of Barclay! I haven't read the Promise Falls trilogy yet. Is it any good? 8y
TrishB @MyNamesParadise It is on the good side!! 8y

I have a NetGalley question for y'all. I know these books are ARCs, so I don't expect them to be perfect. What do you do when you find a lot of misspelled/ wrong words. Examples of wrong words- you're instead of your, sight instead of site, threw instead of through. Is this something you send in the -notes to publisher- section? I'm new to NetGalley so I thought you smart people would know. Thank you!

Octoberwoman I haven't run into this much on NetGalley, though I also haven't gotten anything from NetGalley in awhile. But I think if there were a lot of instances in one book I might mention it to them. 8y
Alfoster @melbooksandbeauty Most of them state at the beginning that they haven't had the final edit yet. Let's hope their editors catch what we see! If not, you could get a job!👏👏 8y

FINALLY the third book in the Promise Falls trilogy is out! Now I can start reading the first book 😄

BookishMarginalia I do that too! 8y
rabbitprincess @BookishMarginalia I don't usually, but because Linwood wrote all three of these simultaneously over an 18-month period, it seemed appropriate 😉 8y

I finished Far from True (book#2 in this series) and went to download the next one. UGH! It isn't out until November. Don't you hate it when that happens?!

MyNamesParadise I love Linwood Barclay, but I never started reading the series. So many books on my to-read list 8y
