Slowish reading week with only a short book finished but I am making progress on Black Prism.
#WeeklyForecast
I want to at least hit 50% in Black Prism this week. It's doable I just really have to get back into the reading mood. My work week ends early though so hopefully I'll have time to focus.
This was a very quick read that kept me company while I was in the completely empty children‘s department at work tonight. I don‘t think I could live with a cat as perfect as the one in this book though. I did enjoy the Buddhist tales being shown as the artist immersed himself in his painting.
This F book is written by Elizabeth Coatsworth and illustrated by Lynd Ward is a Caldecott Medal winner. When a struggling Japanese artist becomes the owner of an unwanted cat, he is not very happy. But, when he then gets asked to make a piece featuring Budha, for a large amount of money, he begins to believe the cat is good luck. When he adds the cat in the art, it is denied. This story shows that love and passion are more important than money.
#AugustIsATrip Day 5: Iphigene describes The Cat Who Went To #Heaven as a simple parable that allows its reader to reflect and reconsider the true meaning of love, compassion, and mercy. Full review here: https://wp.me/pDlzr-4tK
Although I only posted pictures of Trixie, my son‘s cat, when we visited with them, she was very definitely one of the #catsofLitsy. She loved to curl up with me while I read, and was very good at turning pages before I was ready. She passed away this past Saturday, and she is leaving a big hole in our family.
I read these books when I was kid. I didn't realize they were from the 1930s. The tagged book was so cute. I completely forgot I read it, but the moment I saw the title and cover I remembered it.

#whereiread #riotgrams Little Cat is keeping my reading spot warm. I like to sit on my comfy couch, throw a blanket over my legs and sip my tea while catching up on my latest book. During the day, sunlight streams in from our large, living room window. The cat's fountain gives the room the meditative sound of running water. It's the perfect spot! :D
