Scratched off the bucket list poster! As a bounty hunter chases down androids to kill, he second guesses his existence. What does it mean to be human? This was an enticing novel full of deep questions. Also, and this may make me seem a little dumb, but I really liked how this sci-fi book wasn‘t over the top with jargon like some others I have read. It got its message across and was an enjoyable read!
I wanted to post a cute picture of the next book I read, but then I found out there was a pdf on the internet. I don‘t have a cute picture, but do you know what I do have? $16 plus tax.
I watched Blade Runner, guys! And let me tell you, it‘s nothing like the book!
I really thought I was going to love this. I wasn‘t drawn into any of the characters though, and the world that Dick creates is far from immersive or fully thought out. Feels like I‘m missing something here
When you find the book of your dreams and the price point lets you know you need to keep dreaming. UGHHHH.
This chick is off to the north woods so no weekend posts. I will miss my listsy village. Tootles!
It's been a few years since I read this, but it takes place in a future where what is real and what is replicant is indistinguishable. #virtualinsanity #aprella @Mdargusch @Reviewsbylola @emilyhaldi @Cinfhen

This was an interesting read particularly as Blade Runner is such a classic part of my cultural map and i enjoyed 2049 last year.
The book was similar but different - Deckard is obsessed with acquiring an animal, and Roy Batty is threatening but not to the extent of the film.
An incredible feat of imagination, well worth reading. And i can't wait to watch the film again.
I know, I know, horrifying to call such a classic a so-so. But while the ideas are essential (so essential it's hard to imagine sci-fi without them) the detached, clinical tone and sudden shifts in the rather shallow characters blunted much of its power for me. My "classic of genre fiction" for #ReadHarder2018
I feel like mine is obvious, but this looks too fun. 🎉
My username on many platforms is after “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.” I cut the first E to make it fit the character limit the first time I used it on a different platform, & I liked the way it looked and sounded, so I kept it! I like that it‘s gender neutral (v important on the interwebs) & Philip K Dick, VALIS bless his crazy soul, wrote some seriously resonant fiction. 😳

The inspiration behind the song (sadly we only have the film tie in cover!).
Numan‘s love of Philip K Dick books at the time led me to read them all in my teens! Some I enjoyed more than others!
Are there any Philip K Dick fans in the house? The #FolioSociety had just announced its newest title, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? AND A Scanner Darkly. Two books in one. Two covers and two illustrators. It's stunning #FolioFreaks http://www.foliosociety.com/book/PKD/scanner-androids
My book club chose this for our next read - the cover is creepy, right? Hope I like it!
Brilliant. Well written and not at all dated ( especially considering the book is older than I am!)
Totally different from the film but a very satisfying read.
This cover is awesomeeee I also love this book, does anyone else end up buying their favourites over and over again with varying covers ☺️☺️☺️
