I finished both of these audiobooks today while I got a lot of #audiostitching done.
MYSTTS was extremely interesting. I've never given therapy much thought but her experiences as both a therapist & a patient were thought provoking.
NOH was a coming of age story that grabbed me from the beginning. Carlos is dealing with a LOT- his brother's death, angst about his own future, 1st love, 1st job, 1st heartbreak, 1st firing- & I enjoyed his growth.

Loved hosting the Chi YA Book Festival at our school last Saturday—great authors, great panels and just an all around great day. Best of all? The bookstore that put on the event donated books to our library. Having heard from all the authors at the festival, I know students are going to be excited to read these books!

I really enjoyed this novel! Carlos‘ brother is killed in a random accident but Carlos still sees him everywhere - as a pigeon, in an omelet, in a dog. On the night of his high school graduation party his brother urges him to run. Carlos decides to follow one of his brother‘s culinary adventures and he‘s set on a new path.
It‘s a good read with interesting characters. YA with a Latino Male POV. #diversebooks

A Latino protagonist whose love of food and cooking prompt his spontaneous departure from Mexico City to Washington state. So far a good read!

Starting this book soon. It's about a guy who is in mourning over his brother and starts learning how to cook to distract himself. I met the author a few weeks ago....he offers to sign his books with HOT SAUCE. No joke. 😜

This was part of my book club.Here you'll see Carlos struggling with a grief process after his brother was killed.He decided to leave everything and moved to US.There Carlos was dealing with his brother ghost? Hallucination? Author said it will depend on reader.He was managing family conflicts, acceptance of new love and tried to accomplish his goals.Everything was resolved in 3 pages😱Ending was too abrupt 2.3/3⭐️it was written as a recipe book.

This is my next book to read once I finish my library books! It's like North of Happy is in my brain!!
This was 3.75 🌮🌮🌮🥑 enjoyable YA tale about grief tied in with food.

This was one of those books where everything could have been solved with a few conversations. An interesting coming of age story about saying what you want and what you need and not following a path that is set for you.

My realization after #bookhaul from last post... I rode my bike today and forgot bungee cords. Thank you mail room for the twine to tie my books down! 😂

Adi Alsaid is my current favorite Mexican writer. He writes YA and it's fun. He also sent me a postcard from Columbia from a Twitter contest. #mexicanauthors
