A gripping YA thriller from prolific author, Kelley Armstrong. It's been a while, but I remember getting really into it.
Edge of my seat read. YA and I really enjoyed it. Shed light on young people dealing with mental illness. Would recommend.
This was a long read for me and not just because I‘ve been too tired to read a lot at night. While the story was good it felt really drawn out. Just felt like the characters over analyzed everything. Not my favourite Kelley book.
Juno though it smelled good though.

Sunday morning snuggles. 🐶💕 Enjoying this read by Kelley but it‘s taking awhile to get through since I‘ve been too tired to read before bed.

Makhani tofu and a book my mum lent me way back in February. I'm enjoying it so far, but I'm miffed Armstrong, a Canadian with a big fan base, set it in Nowheresville, USA. Authors are often advised to set their books in the US to make them more "commercial," but I firmly believe this does everyone a disservice. Non-Americans miss out on a chance to see themselves represented; Americans get the impression they're the default, when they're not. ⬇️
While I hate to give a Kelley Armstrong book anything less than a glowing review. This one just didn't do it for me. Too much YA predictability.
@TheFunkyBookworm thanks for the tag! I‘m not real big in YA, but I do get some in here and there.. this Kelley Armstrong was recommended to me by one of the girls i work with, and it‘s a pretty good thriller! Creeped me out a bit for a YA in fact! #YAWednesday
This author is terrific. This book is not. There is so much teenage angst, it drowns the overwrought plot. I bailed 7 chapters in. If mental illness is a part of your life, you may appreciate the depiction/inclusion of this challenging aspect of the plot.
I came home from BC to find two loaner books waiting for me. Good times.
I am trash for everything Kelley Armstrong wrotes. I think she has a way of writing that makes even the most boring and constantly retold stories come to life. The same is said with this one. While the characters themselves were stupid at times I couldn't help but get completely immersed
Finished this book today. I thought i was a good read with all the elements of a good pyscological thriller. It didnt have me hooked & unable to put down. Took me couple of weeks to finish. I did like the way she the character's mental illness was written & played out in the story.
#currentreads (with Lucia) 📖😽 . The Masked Truth is a recommendation from a coworker.. pretty good so far. #catsoflitsy #letsgopens #becauseitsthecup 🐧
Are you sure? Maybe we're imagining it. We are all a little nuts, after all.
I hate rating any Kelley Armstrong book under 5 stars but this was only a 4 for me. It was still incredible and I loved it, it just wasn't my typical book of choice. It's a great ya thriller since we don't see many around and I loved the whole idea of the book though the ending was a tad predictable
