I have finally finished this book!!!! I enjoyed it. I am glad I took my time with reading it. The characters and the plot where great. This is my second book I have completed for #20in4 readathon. I finished it in 2 hours and 40 minutes!!! So I have read for a total of 8 hours and 13 minutes. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars!!!
These are some of the books that I am going to be working on in the #20in4 readathon. I am wanting to finish Parade's End today, I have less then 300 pages left. I know I won't finish all of these books during the readathon, but I will I have fun doing it.
I am also working on Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon, Love and War by Melissa De La Cruz, Irish Folk and Fairy Tales by W. B. Yeats, two ebooks and a audiobook.
I am finally reading this book again! Started reading at the beginning of January and then my grandmother got sick. I put it down for awhile. I had to start over because I forgot what I read before. I am enjoying so far.
Men, at any rate, never fulfilled expectations. They might, upon acquaintance, turn out more entertaining than they appeared; but almost always taking up with a man was like reading a book you had read when you had forgotten that you had read it. You had not been for ten minutes in any sort of intimacy with any man before you had said: “But I‘ve read all this before…”
Some nice writing and some nice material on World War One, but in general this felt like a boorish man‘s meditations on wishing women in nice dresses would bring him lamb chops mixed in with a bit of unexciting banter about whether oxford or cambridge promote better Latin pronunciation... fun. Compared to other modernist writers that pushed the boundaries more I‘ve gotta say I‘m not really feeling this one
My total for the first day of #stayhome24in48 with some terrible pic collage graphic design from me to tell you about it! I‘m about 100/850 pages into Parade‘s End and so far it‘s soooo Great Male Author Classic im finding it absolutely hilarious and having a great time reading it, perhaps not for the reasons the author intended but I‘m definitely enjoying myself! I won‘t get to 24 but I‘m going for beating 12 hours tomorrow

So many great books (sadly) are about #war but these are two of my favorites. A modernist WWI masterpiece, and one of my favourite books of all time, from Ford Madox Ford and a postmodernist WWII triumph from Ian McEwan. #maybookflowers #foliofreaks
I tried reading this when the TV series came out, but abandoned it twice, and I don't think I'm going to bother trying again. Bailed!
I've been watching the BBC adaptation of Parade's End with Benedict Cumberbatch and enjoying it so much, I thought I'd read the book, too. (Go figure, it's been on the shelf for years.) #betterlatethannever
This is one of the few books that I have dropped everything and read as soon as it arrived. Granted, it took me about four or five months to eventually get through it, but it was well worth the effort!
#aprilbookshowers day 12: drop everything and read
In every man there are two minds that work side by side, the one checking the other; thus emotion stands against reason, intellect corrects passion and first impressions act a little, but very little, before quick reflection.
Higher than the beasts, lower than the angels, stuck in our idiot Eden.
My #firstpost on #litsy is my favourite book, or collection of books, Parade's End. I read it constantly, and have a collection or various printings and editions. I'm most at home in this book. #paradesend #fordmaddoxford #bookworm #readingismymentalhealth #collector #oldbooksmell
