Very cringey but these are the songs that remind me of falling in love or having unrequited crushes. There are two huge crushes that I can‘t remember any songs around, whereas 3 of these songs remind me of just one boy from high school. Nowadays that boy and I have been good friends for 30 years and I get along great with his wife and thank god we never got together 😂

Centique @Reggie isn‘t it just? I think it must be in the Introduction to Basic Guitar Playing or something! 😆 Which reminds me I should ask my daughter to learn it. She‘s been teaching herself songs off YouTube lately - had a year or 2 of guitar lessons when she was 7-8 and gave it up - but now it‘s handy. She‘s a little troubadour 😉 4y

Centique @Reggie also thank god no one ever tried to woo me playing a song in public - I would have either fled or fell apart laughing. I would not be a good romantic lead part - quirky best friend probably. 4y

Reggie @Centique I‘m the gay sidekick who gets matched up with the other main character‘s gay sidekick. And if this was a horror movie I‘m the 3rd to last to get killed. I find out what‘s going on but as soon as I reveal to the survivors what‘s going on that‘s when I get it. Lol and yes to any kind of musical instrument! The world needs the arts and music more than ever. And who knows, maybe one day maybe she‘ll be the one serenading. But hopefully not 4y

Cinfhen Hahaha, i had a similar experience with the song “I Want to Know What Love Is" by Foreigner. I was 14 and completely heartbroken...I did end up getting the guy, though. And I think I‘d call him my “first love” @BarbaraBB I still think about him, unfortunately he died tragically ~ he was struck by a car while riding in a bike marathon for charity ?He was only 36. His family actually established a book award in his memory. (edited) 4y

BarbaraBB Oh no, that story ends tragically, how sad. It must be weird for you too, that your first love is no longer around somewhere. I ended up getting the guy too by the way! We were together for three years (!) before I entered college and moved to another town. It was over within weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️. And I loved that Foreigner song too, but not as much as That Was Yesterday 😂 (edited) 4y

batsy What a great list. Against All Odds was playing at a cafe my family, friends, & I loved to go to all the time the night before official lockdown last March. And since then the cafe has closed and I can't listen to the song without thinking about the general mood in the air that night 😢 4y

Got this as an ARC at #yallfest in 2017 and just got around to reading it. It felt very basic in character and plot development, there was just something missing from it that I can‘t place.

I saw this one at my conference and finally got up the nerve to ask about it on the final day. I think they were tired and ready to go so she told me to just take it even though it was the display copy. 😂

I started it on the plane and finished it yesterday. It was sweet and fun. It did have two timelines and alternating perspectives (I hate both) and I do think that kept it from some development but overall this is a solid, swoony YA debut.

I read this ARC just at a time when I wanted sweet, romantic, and beautiful. @AuthorJessPennington's descriptions are gorgeous, and I fell in love with Vee & Cam. He makes an awesome book boyfriend too!
