Dolly Parton is such an inspiration. From her childhood in a one-room log cabin, she grew up to become a star. And even more impressive than her music career is her Imagination Library, which provides one book a month to children until they turn five. Her idea is that all children would have a library of their own when they start school. More than 100 million books have been given! #Cabin #LetsTravelAugust

OriginalCyn620 Love her! For both her sass and her generosity! ❤️ 3mo
Eggs Not to mention a voice like an angel 😇🎶🥰 3mo
Dolly I agree with every previous comment and would like to add I admire her bravery to dress and appear the way she chooses. She‘s an American treasure. 3mo

MallenNC @Eggs @Dolly Absolutely! She‘s a great singer and such a role model for being who you are and presenting yourself the way you want. Plus she‘s an amazing songwriter. 3mo
MallenNC @OriginalCyn620 Love her! I saw her in concert and she was so fun, and she played so many instruments. They were all painted white and covered in rhinestones too! 3mo

I didnt know she did this. She basically sends books out to kids every month and just gave out her 100th million book. Go Dolly!

A fast, easy read/listen. Dolly Parton‘s personality certainly comes through. Full of good humor, common-sense wisdom on how to get the most out of your life.

There‘s far worse ways to spend a Sunday morning than having Dolly Parton read to you(even if I am at the laundromat)!

Surprisingly, after my allergy attack last night, I sat here and finished this entire book. It was fantastic, utterly inspiring and uplifting! I did not know what a great person she is and she is aware that many people may misjudge her. Life is filled with treats and surprises for those of us who voraciously read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jess7 This reminds me of last Saturday. My husband‘s family and I were playing trivial pursuit and one of the questions was something to the effect of why does Dolly Parton describe herself as a cross between Tiny Tim and a nanny goat? 2y
Joyfulmimi She has created a persona that is not the real her and she almost seems to think its funny. @Jess7 2y
Jess7 The answer was her voice. But I guessed her legs because she is so petite which I reasoned were like Tiny Tim‘s little legs and a nanny goat‘s legs. It didn‘t dawn on me that she would be referring to her voice! 2y

PenguinInFlight She‘s really fascinating. My grandpa LOVED classic country, and as a young bookworm I devoured all the biographies he had of them. Loretta Lynn, Dolly, Johnny Cash, and George Jones are a few that I remember. He liked to read, but read very slowly, as he had to leave school in the 4th grade and get a job because his father died and his mother sent all the boys away, keeping only their baby sister. (It was the Great Depression.) He was always so 2y
Jess7 I‘ve heard her be interviewed before and I thought she seemed really kind. I think I heard somewhere about charity work she does behind the scenes without recognition and that her partner hasn‘t been publicly photographed with her or something like that bc he wants to maintain his privacy and she respects that. 2y
PenguinInFlight proud of how well I could read, and how far above my grade level I was. He liked to listen to me read these out loud to him. ❤️ 2y
Joyfulmimi Exactly @Jess7! Thats what I loved reading about, her charity work and views on giving back to her community. 2y
britt_brooke We love her literacy program! #ImaginationLibrary 2y
peacegypsy I‘ve heard great things about this book, and #Imaginationlibrary is beyond a gift. 2y

I‘m no expert on Dolly or her music (I do love “Jolene”), but I‘m a fan of her positive energy, support for literacy, and voice (in every sense of the word). I kept hearing this audiobook was sweet and delightful, and yup, it is! 💖

Dolly Ohhh, she reads it! Even better! 2y
Christine @Dolly Not only does she read, she laughs, tells jokes, sings...it‘s great. 😁 2y
