I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it. Some will be old, some will be new - don't judge me, I have a lot of books.

Day 76th

Join the fun if you want!

Oh, this hurts.

I hate to pan the last book of one of my favorite series, but I can‘t get past how a character that I have LOVED so much took a complete 180 into something unrecognizable. I will rant about that in a spoilery comment for those interested.

Amazingly lovely writing, and there were parts I loved, but there seems to be no plot other than to take us through 60 years of a marriage.

Read book 1, consider book 2, but skip this.☹️

⭐️⭐️

sprainedbrain Alexander Barrington was such a great character in the first two books. I mean, my adoration for him was approaching Jamie Fraser levels. I get that he went through unspeakable horror in WWII, and fully expected to see him battle those demons. But instead, he turned into just an abusive, cheating asshole. And yet, Simons seems to want us still to see him as the hero? Tania‘s response to him is equally troubling, and I just can‘t get past this. 😖 4y
HOTPock3tt Oh NO!! 😢this series is high on my TBR 4y
kgriffith What a bummer! 4y
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt definitely read the first one! The second one was good too, and it really could have just ended right there. 🤪 4y

I really wanted to love it. But I just couldn‘t. It was just... boring? It kept jumping back and forth and the best part was when they were overseas. Which made up a tiny part of the 748 pages.

Liked the ending though, don‘t know if I‘d read it again. I probably will, but not for a while. On a positive note, this was my 20th book this year!! 🥳

I love, love, love this trilogy. Yes, it is a love story, but neither one is perfect. They fought, they both had stubborn pride, but they loved each other through so much. On the minus - there was a lot of pornography.

Aahh! The finale of the most wonderful heart-stopping trilogy. Leave me alone for the next few days. 1 to read. 1 to reread favorite parts over and over again. And 1 to savor in my dreams (night and day).

TheSpineView Loved the first two. I have the 3rd and just have never gotten around to reading it.📚📚📚 5y
LapReader I hope they turn it into a movie one day. 5y

If I didn‘t “lightly” read this, it would‘ve ruined my favorite book of all time- the bronze horseman. What was Simons thinking? This was horribly depressing and awful

#TBRtemptation post 4! This is the 3rd installment in The Bronze Horseman series. And a thick one too. Tatiana and Alexander suffered through years of war and devastation. Now they're reunited in America and have a son, Anthony. They find a way to love through post-war America as a Cold War heats up. Dark forces attempt to end their hard-fought peace, and the struggles begin again. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

rachaich I read this series and really enjoyed it. It spurred me on to read other era books :) 7y

Started this and soon went on a binge. Took me long to get to this one as it is such a heartbreaking story.
The audiobook could be a lot better! Especially Alexandre 's voice is very uneven.

Fun Friday Photo a day late!! This is the final book in the Bronze Horseman trilogy and after the intense emotional roller coaster they put me on, the simple, quiet ending that brought it all back to the beginning was just perfect and I reread it like 5 times in a row. 😭💕 #ReadWomen

Perfect end to a beautiful series. I know plenty of people didn't enjoy this one as much as the others. I can understand the frustration. This book was at times heartbreaking, but it managed to rip me apart and put me back together again. Perfect.
