SPRINGCLEANING

I‘ve been feeling weighed down & cluttered. So I decided to clear off some shelves to get them under control. I pulled nearly 60 puzzles and 50 books off my shelves. Some of the books went to my building‘s free library & the rest I put on PangoBooks. The puzzles are going to the DC Puzzle Swap next weekend.

Hour 8 and I'm multitasking and listening my audiobook. My 9yo has decided to join me, and he's reading the last book in Rick Riordan's Trial of Apollo series. I'm getting restless, which is usual for me at this point in the #readathon, so I'm getting some #springcleaning done and prepping snack plates for later.

PS: It's really quiet in my feed. Where did all my readathoners go? 😢

I have had this book since....2015? Soon after it came out, but before the Raven Boys Tarot deck was published. I finally read it though! I loved it, and I‘m glad I waited because it gave me time to reread the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy and understand what I was reading. I miss Grace and Sam, but I love Cole and Isabel. 5/5

TheAromaofBooks I got editions with the original covers for the first three books (the silhouette covers - I LOVE them!) but Sinner is its own thing that doesn't match the others so I have never gotten around to getting a copy haha But that one is fantastic! My sister & I saw Stiefvater when she was on her tour for All the Crooked Saints. She was such an interesting & personable speaker. 4y

TheAromaofBooks I did that last year and also removed a few hundred titles - I think when I first started keeping a physical TBR/book blogging/following other book bloggers I was a lot less picky about what I put on the list. I'm way more finicky now (finite amount of time in my life for reading!). Since the whole thing is on a spreadsheet, I even went so far as to color-code the books left on the list by genre 😂 5y

I think a few years ago I was really into trying to read books on lists titled "Books to read before you die" or " best books of all time". But now I know what I like and what I don't like so going back over the list and reading the summaries, I'm like, "yeah there's no way I'm going to be like this book." 5y

TheAromaofBooks That's exactly how I felt when I was going thru my list. I think when I first started making it I would read someone's review & think “oh, sounds fun!“ but when I actually read the synopsis now I can recognize when a book is actually going to be good for ME lol I'm not usually a mood reader - I tend to use a random number generator to decide what to read next - but I did enjoy the color coding for the times that I do want a thriller or something! 5y
