Such a relief that I enjoyed this one! My recent experience with MHC books has been hit or miss...mostly miss. 18-year-old Kerry is found dead in the family pool. Her boyfriend is suspected and a neighbor with special needs. Kerry‘s older sister, Aline, is rational and willing to help investigators find the killer. #MountTBR

This was my first MHC book as I wanted to honor her after hearing of her passing. Hooked from the first minute of the audiobook, this short mystery/thriller is pretty straight-forward, but still surprising. I'm excited to read her earlier works as the consensus is this can't even compare.

There were a few unrealistic plot points and it wrapped up a bit too quickly and neatly, but I can see past those things as it was pure entertainment.

Listening to my first Mary Higgins Clark book in memoriam of the amazing author and woman that was MHC.

Because sometimes it‘s fun to just read and escape life. I read so many life-changing books with real purpose but every now and then it‘s nice to just read and escape into the world of a book. #summerreading #readjustbecause #fiction

Bit of a nothing book

Listened to this whole book tonight on audiobook while painting the walls in our family room! Although it was predictable from the beginning, I still enjoyed the story line and it kept me interested. The epilogue was abrupt and a little awkward though. It was a quick listen!

2.5 ⭐️⭐️ The idea was there but it fell flat.

I finished this the other day as an #audiobook. I thought I‘d post this cute pic of Biel with the Christmas tree since I‘ve already returned the book to the library. I really enjoyed it. The lady reading it didn‘t annoy me so that‘s a plus. Her voicing of the characters was very good. I was suspicious of the character #whodunit from the first time I met them but there were enough twists and turns to keep me interested.

I finished listening to The Screwtape Letters and am starting this one. Time for a change of pace. #audiostitching #crossstitch

Ending felt rushed, but I liked the MULTIPLE pov's because it had you guessing the whole time

This one is short - glad I borrowed it from the library instead of buying it for my Kindle.

The incomparable Mary Higgins Clark

Forget the mystery behind who killed Kerry Dowling. The real mystery is who really wrote this book! It does not read like a Mary Higgins Clark book at all because as far as the plot is concerned, it is way too simplistic. I bet 99.9% of the readers figured out who did it and why way before the actual perpetrator was revealed. I wish I had skipped this one.

Sorry Mary Higgins Clark fans, I could not do it. Too many things driving me crazy about her writing until I gave up. At least I tried again, right?

Don't see this author on my Litsy feed much. To be honest, I gave up on her years ago, because after several books, I felt like she had good ideas but wasn't a great writer. After reading the synopsis of this one, I decided to give her another chance.

I'm so #Tired but I want to keep reading this... I have a pretty good idea whodunit, but I need to find out. Sadly it'll most likely have to wait until morning. LO is out and I don't dare turn on a light to read by. #AdelesMayMashUp @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Mary Higgins Clark is the author that made me fell in love with reading as an adult. This book didn't disappoint! Kerry Dowling is found dead at the bottom of her pool. Did her boyfriend kill her or was it her intellectually disabled young man next door?I had no idea who the killer was until the very end. Can't wait to see what she writes next!

After a very long day at work ( it was picture day at work for the 20 two year olds that I work with), it is time to relax with a book by one of my favorite authors. Mary Higgins Clark is the author that made me fall in love with reading!
