This was a bit of a rambly book and very short. I didn‘t connect with much of the story. I did find the parts about the teacher strikes and bread lines to be educational. But I am not sure I really understand what this book was even about.
I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
It‘s been a month since I have done one of these! So I think it‘s time for another round of “Let‘s Learn About Upcoming Books”: This is a book mail stack! Er, stacks. These are the amazing books I have received in the past few weeks that I may read for coverage consideration. Thank you to the publishers for sending them along. What are you excited to read? 📚❤️📚
Been busy with life and not reading as much as I should—love this cover though.
#currentlyreading #rso #augustrelease2018🇦🇺 #preview Even though this book is set in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 the themes resonate across the divide - grief and loss, uncertainty and instability, searching for friendship, and the ever present feeling of hope. #middlefiction #hotkeybooks
This book could have been overwhelmingly sad, so much happening personally and politically. But it‘s handled so well and really does focus on hope and moving forward.
Well written YA about grief and life‘s complications, will definitely read more by this author.
1: lots of reading in the sunshine with my girls. Plus it's a bank holiday so extra day as well.

5: I'll tag my penpals @jhod and @Captivatedbybooks

Oh this book really plays to my emotions. It's so well written and there are points I wanted to cry along with Shamiso. This could have been such a sad story but the title is absolutely right. There is hope in this and it's beautifully written.
Oh Shamiso she goes through so much in this and I admire her growth as the story progresses but I loved Tanyaradzwa more. Her hope given all she faces is incredible.
Today‘s book haul 😁
The Fitzgerald is a Folio version I found of Gatsby in a charity shop for my daughter as she collects copies of it. ( but doesn‘t like covers with dodgy women on 🤷♀️)
