Ok, didn‘t get through all three this weekend (though two and a half isn‘t bad) in order to get the planned video out today. Hopefully still sometime this week. In the meantime, can you guess my pizza order?

Catching up on prompts I missed…

“When fate conspired for them to marry, their worlds collided with a passionate force neither had expected... but both soon craved.”

🎧 - I am obsessed with this one! It was so good to listen to on audio (headphones must be worn at all times and prepare to blush) and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing. It was one of those romances where it just makes your chest ache. There was a moment at the end which kind of shook me, but besides that, I loved the story, the characters, all of it. So well done. 💕

Overall, I liked my first Lisa Kleypas novel and am looking forward to devouring her Wallflowers series! She is very descriptive when it comes to clothing and furniture — I appreciated the historical research, which seems pretty rare in #historicalromance, and it really helped the scenes come alive in my mind even when it was a tad too much detail. I also love a bookish, strong-willed heroine!

I could have done without the raspberry scene. 😳

I got sucked into an enticing, total impulse read from bookstagram last night. I don‘t read much romance so I checked Overdrive to see if it was available. Moments later, I was enjoying the period piece story of a spinster author who mistakenly assumes her new publisher, whom she hadn‘t met yet, was the male escort she hired for her 30th birthday to finally deflower her. Fun set up- but the scenes where he makes his moves in his own library?!?👌🏻

Finished listening to the audiobook this morning ( love Hoopla) Amanda is turning thirty and wants to have sex for the first time . When Jack turns up unannounced she mistakes him for the man she has hired to do the job. Of course he‘s not. A satisfying historical #romanstsy with lots of 🔥.

I didn‘t recognize ‘Suddenly You‘ from its red, satiny cover, or the story itself from the back teaser, but after reading the 1st line, I knew I had read it before. That didn‘t stop me from reading it again!

It‘s a Regency Romance featuring a spinster who decides to hire a “cicisbeo”on her 30th b-day. It‘s starts out on a humorous note & there are light touches, but there are darker moments too.

Laughter + Tears + Sex + HEA = Pick

Dogearedcopy Image: The original owners of this LFL used to stock it w/lit-fic, DVDs of ‘80s movies, and garden produce but the new owners stock it with James Patterson and Debbie Macomber. As disappointed as I am, I get it: Someone else in the neighborhood has basically been robbing the LFLs around here :-/ 6y

My book haul from Saturday's tea party. 🤣😂 The Mills and Boon is a gag gift - the heroine is called Verity! The Kleypas is one I haven't read as one of the ladies was clearing her storage out. #romantsy #romance

#marchintoreading Day 18 Romance was my go to for covers with #thebacksofwomen on them.

CrowCAH Wow, it appears a couple authors like the backs of women, since several of their books show them! 8y
Bookzombie @CrowCAH It seems like it. Although I wonder how much input they get on their covers. 🤔 8y
CrowCAH @Bookzombie I read an article about crafting romance covers recently and to a degree the authors have very little input. They can say things like hair color or making sure the race of the people is correct, but overall it's the photographer who shoots the poses and does costuming. 8y

I keep trying to read romances and finding that they just aren't that satisfying. This one started out strong but didn't hold my interest. And I basically hated the ending.

Are there good romances out there? I'll keep trying. I like the idea of them.

Johanna414 I really like the female characters in Courtney Milan's romances. Maybe give one of hers a try? 8y
