My plan involved cleaning up my deck on my day off. This seemed like a better idea. Everyone needs a little sanity break once in a while.

Addison_Reads I love that bookmark! 💚 5y

These short essays make a quick read. Lamott is in form, with funny and/or insightful lines on every page. #labordayreads #readingresolutions @Jess7

“You‘ve got to wonder what Jesus was like at seventeen. They don‘t even talk about it in the Bible, he was apparently so awful.” 🤣 Annie Lamott always makes me laugh!

GingerAntics 🤣🤣🤣 That is absolute perfection!!! I‘m so glad I‘m not the only one who has had this thought. 6y

And now for something completely different. With The Brothers Karamazov still in progress (past the 50% mark!) and a thriller as my current audio, I‘ve decided to finally get on to reading this one.

mcipher Anne Lamott is just amazing. ❤️ 6y

⭐️⭐️

I really wanted to like this one since I know so many who love and laud her work. This was my first Lamott and I realize I probably picked a poor first read. The essays are honest, I'll give them that, but ranting ramblings mostly regarding her hatred of Bush that don't come together as a cohesive piece. I will try her again but this was a 👎for me.

Anne Lamott has been on my tbr list since forever. Not sure why I waited so long. She's funny, refreshingly liberal and leaves a trail of witty gems to live by. I love her idea to start a revolution for "Kindness, Greenness and Libraries" (I'm in!) and how she rallied to prevent the closure of the John Steinbeck & other libraries in Salinas, CA. Anxious to read her guide for writers next-Bird by Bird. #readharder #collectionofstories

Library Sale Haul from a couple of weekends ago. DVDs and audio book too! I listened to half of a friends' audio version of Bossypants but never finished the other half. Now I can!
