Completely adorable. Actor/writer/comedian David Walliams has really earned his crown as the much lauded ‘new Roald Dahl‘.
For me,he combines Dahl‘s whimsy and silliness (and fart joke level humor) with the world-building and cast of characters of a Nick Park animation (including Queen Vic!). This middle-grade comedy fantasy is the perfect story for any little reluctant reader. A joy!

This was a bit too extreme to be classed as a kids book I thought. The stuff relating to the poacher got a bit dark and I think it would scare kids (the threat of her killing the child in the story instead of the animal comes to mind). Itself not a bad book, but perhaps suited to older kids

Walliams has done it again ,another wonderful read. Lots of shared giggles and heart warming moments

‘For a moment, these two people, separated by oceans of age, class and wealth, held each other tight . It felt like the world had stopped‘🥰

My daughter& I can‘t get enough of him&his books , the audio books are also fab as he narrates them. Reading time is definitely our fav during homeschool ...now which one of his to read next 🤔 #dogsoflitsy

I enjoyed the book but the end ruins it.How did a whole heard of mammoths unfreeze and resucitate themselves?I know it's a children's book,but the story still have to be coherent.If you tell me in this universe there's magic that makes it possible,or mammoomths didn't become extinct I'd happily accept it,but they had to do a Frankenstein with Woolly,so how was all his family alive?I respect my nephew's intelligence too much to gift him this book

Awwwww this warmed my heart. It was so cute! Other than the excessive use of fart/poop jokes in a certain scene (I'm just not the audience for that), I really loved it. The friendship between our orphan and the mammoth was adorable. The mc is so pure and corky and blunt. I loved how Victoria was written. Now I want to go read some Roald Dahl
