#tlt #threelistthursday Thanks @TheSpineView for the tag!

1) Ingrid Bergman (isn‘t Casablanca the best??)
2) Maggie Smith (ahhh, Downton Abbey)
3) Elizabeth Taylor (those violet eyes, I loved her in National Velvet; and my grandpa met her when he changed her tire when she had a flat in Marfa, Texas when she was filming Giant. She went on to bigger and better things and Grandpa did, too. He eventually became mayor of Marfa. 😊

TheBookHippie I agree Elizabeth Taylor!!! ♥️♥️ 8mo
Susanita Ingrid Bergman is stunning in Casablanca! 8mo

#AutumnPlease #scarf Ingrid Bergman was just iconic in Casablanca. The scarf with the white coat is stunning. I live in Az. Love scarves but unless I travel to cooler climates in the fall or winter , no cause to wear them.I still have a collection of them though.

Eggs Beautiful 🤍🧣🖤 I have a collection too but it‘s so hot here (TX) 1y
dabbe 🤩🤩🤩 I have a scarf “collection“, too! 1y

Pickpick

This is a pick mostly because I‘m a fan. The book was a bit dry and repetitive. There was nothing earth shattering or new. I watched the movie twice while reading it. I think I love it a little more. Here‘s lookin‘ at you, Casablanca. ❤️#setinHollywood #booked2020

Question, am I doing this right? Who should I tag for reading prompts?

BarbaraTheBibliophage You‘re doing great! Did you fill out our sign up form too? We will track the summary posts at the end of each 3-month season, so we can do a random drawing and giveaway. The form gives us your email address in case you win. I‘ll tag you in a post with a link to it. 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage I can‘t get to my link for the form right now. Maybe one of lovely co-hosts can put it here or tag you. But I did tag you in a post about the Goodreads group we have. 😎 5y

Cuilin @BarbaraTheBibliophage I did sign up through Goodreads and gave my email but I did not get a response. I may have done something wrong. I‘m not technologically gifted. 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Perfect! I forgot there‘s a link to the Google form there. @4thhouseontheleft can verify that the form went through. It most likely did! 5y

I hate saying “bad,” but this book was. The part of it that focused on the immigrant-actors who made up much of Casablanca‘s supporting cast was interesting but not news, and the chapters about long-term critical response were a failed attempt at high-mindedness.

If you know anything about Casablanca, this book is not insightful. If you don‘t know anything about it, watch the movie (!!) and read Aljean Harmetz‘s Round Up the Usual Suspects. ⭐️⭐️

Pickpick

A good solid history of the origin, making of, success of, and continuing life of one of the best Hollywood movies. Isenberg is especially good when describing the lives of the European refugees who played in the film and made it's atmosphere more real. Too narrow in scope for a reader looking for history of studio-era Hollywood. But a good book for a fan of the movie.

Closing out 2016 with one of the greatest films ever...and it's about standing up to totalitarianism. How could that be appropriate? 🤔 As an added bonus, they had advance copies of this February release about it - which was written by a professor/mentor of mine! A great end to the year! Healthy New Year's to all my #favoritelittens ! May we all read more than our expectations, and may the books we read shape and change us all. #nye #newyears
