I fell behind on this series. I wish I hadn‘t, but this was the perfect book to break a slump. I love Harris‘s writing style, and it‘s great to be back in her version of Regency England with Sebastian and friends. The ending felt a bit rushed and too neat, but I can overlook that in favor of the joy I get from reading the rest. Too dark to be considered a cozy, but not so graphic as to be unbearably traumatizing. TW in comments.

Getting some reading in while the kiddo is at a fiddle club rehearsal! They have two performances coming up Labor Day weekend at a folk music festival and the nerves are starting to kick in for him as this will be the biggest audience he‘s played for since picking up cello a year ago.

This is my most favorite series and the only series I have read more than once.

It was a dreary day in Chicago yesterday, but I managed to start and finish the latest Sebastian St Cyr novel. Perfect read for such a day.

When evil is removed from the earth, are we obliged to figure out why? That's a primary question in the latest book in the Sebastian St. Cyr series. As Sebastian delves further into the salacious murder of his niece's reprehensible husband, Ashworth, he finds it hard to locate anyone who either didn't want the man dead or isn't glad to hear the news is his demise. But his death releases a slew of family secrets, and leaves evil with a new face.

Loved, loved, LOVED this book. The mystery was more complex than I originally thought and was very surprised by the murderer. I'm glad we got to see more of Hero and Sebastian's relationship. I adore this series so much. #audiobook #scribd #historicalmystery #historicalfiction

I simply savor each new book that comes out in this historical mystery series, and this latest one (14th) did not disappoint. In a bit of a twist, the initial murder victim here is also one of the vilest, most sadistic villains that this series has produced...so no tears over losing him! 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️ But the victims start piling up, and the perpetrator totally surprised me! 😳 I just love the way these characters have grown and developed! ❤️

Another great entry into the series. The mystery was excellent and it was nice to see more of some of the previous characters. I'm still a little annoyed at the dumbing down of Hero and I really wish Amanda would get what's coming to her but definitely a worthwhile read.

I got an ARC of this and stayed up way too late reading it. Diving straight back into it this morning with an extra large cup of coffee!
