I love this series. How do I know this? Finishing the newest paperback release in about 4 hours. That‘s how I know 😊 I strongly recommend the Sebastian St. Cyr series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have been revisiting books from my past and it‘s been a good experience. I‘m more of a Harry Dresden fan now than when I started (and stopped) the series a few years ago.
I‘m in a nostalgic mood and revisiting series I read a long time ago. Still an intriguing read and I remember I read it at a time when female lead characters in historical fiction went on a “finding their strong independent lifestyle” arc in their storylines.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️; I‘m a sucker for a “classic” murder mystery. Even though there are two books in this series, Horowitz had to create the books within the plot of the stories. Impressive 🙂
The first book of 2021 and I really liked it! A strong start to my 2021 Goodreads Reading Challenge 📚
I really liked it. I‘m a fan of traditional murder mysteries and I‘m a fan of the author (I‘ve mainly watched him on UK chat shows). And it looks like it might be a series!
I liked it. Some portions of the book felt familiar to other stories but I liked the overall concept of the book.
It‘s been awhile since I‘ve started and finished a book in the same day (well, a 12-hour period). It reminded me of a Hallmark movie but with a bite, so maybe a Lifetime movie. It has a familiar plot, making it a nice palette cleanser and a good start to my Spooktober reading pile 🍁🍁🍁
I liked it. Normally I don‘t seek out Greek plays but it was my book club‘s selection this month and it was a good one. It makes me want to read the other plays of antiquity 📚
This had been sitting in bookcase for years. Thankfully my friend‘s book club selected it and I had a reason to finally dive into the novel. It started slow and then really grabbed my interest. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really like this series! While I appreciated the change of scenery, the plot was average. But I‘m looking forward to the next book 🙂
I decided to dive into this series. A pretty good prequel and I have the first book to start but I might wait until after reading the second prequel 😊
It was a good nostalgic trip down memory lane (it was a book I purchased through Scholastic Book orders). I do have a problem with Los Gatos being an hour away from Los Angeles (the one I‘m familiar with is up in the Bay Area).
Full disclosure: heavy in the history of the Los Angeles Public Library (and libraries in general) but it‘s enjoyable.
I didn‘t expect to like this book as much as I did. I‘m a fan of the Shadow and Bone series and was willing to give this book a try. It‘s definitely more adult than the other series (it “goes there” at points in the book) but I highly recommend it.
I was drawn to this book because of the premise and setting. Once I started reading, the plot propelled me forward, despite an uneven flow in the writing (my opinion). Overall, the book was enjoyable and I would recommend it.
A good second installment in the series was good. If you like your paranormal mystery with a bit history (or your historical mystery with a bit of paranormal), this series is recommended.
I‘m finished! Even though I‘ve seen the movies multiple times, I felt I needed to embark on a literary quest to read the trilogy. I‘m glad I did because my favorite chapter was not included in the movies 📚
I liked this a lot! In my opinion, it has the right mix of fairy tale, historical fiction, and contemporary points of view. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I remember reading this as a kid, and the mystery is as intriguing as I remembered.
This is a nice milestone 😊📚I tagged the book that helped me reach this!
Solid 3.5 stars, though I gave it 4 stars on Goodreads. It has a “Now and Then” vibe but with male main characters and a darker backstory. It‘s a quick read.
If your looking for a cozy series with a bit of a bite, I would recommend this series.
Really good mystery/thriller series; this particular entry is a little more serious than the others
This is my most favorite series and the only series I have read more than once.
Nice wrap up to a series I finished in 2019. May have to reread it because I read it too fast. 😆
This was a good book! It sucked me in and didn‘t let go. It‘s been awhile since a new book (not from a series I‘ve invested in) grabbed my attention.
First book of 2020; finished it four days into the new year; really good series
Catching up on my 2019 book posts: This is a good mystery with a new perspective. It is set in one of my favorite time periods (the interwar years).
It took me awhile to get into this story, but I realized it was a story that needed my attention (winter break). Lots of characters but I‘m looking forward to the second book 📖
Another book I finished in 2019 (I was hustling to meet my GR goal). I like Griffiths‘ writing and her other series, so reading the standalone novel and always meant to be.
Another 2019 book and one that helped me reach my Goodreads goal
Finished this in 2019. It was sitting in the TBR mountain and it was a nice whodunnit; probably will check out the next one
Really enjoyable start to a series; I like the time period and the supernatural aspect
Chugging through the series; finished this one in 2019; still enjoyable 😊
I like this series and it‘s a nice break from the daily grind
An intriguing historical mystery series set during Hollywood‘s Golden Age
I really like this series. I probably shouldn‘t have stayed up past midnight to finish it…
I‘m a fan of reimagining classic stories, characters, and history. This book kept my interest 📖
It‘s a fun romp through a classically structured murder mystery.
Such a great series with a satisfying conclusion! Highly recommend The Divine Cities series 📚
Ware‘s books appeal to my “traditional mystery fan” side…who doesn‘t love a creepy house as the setting?
Ten books in and it‘s still keeping my interest 🙂
Nine books in and the plot still feels pretty solid
