Jenny gave this one 5 stars on Goodreads and I agree! I loved Nesto and Jude‘s story. Nesto‘s food made me hungry and Jude‘s book love was very relatable. 🤓I also loved the other characters in the book. I look forward to picking up the next one in series.

Thank you @Centique for suggesting we read a book to remember and honor Jenny. 💗

Centique Im so glad you joined in! 💕 Thank you. And now I really want to read this too. 2y
Reggie I got the email tonight with this book. Thanks so much, Margie. ❤️Your Christmas will be going out with the group book. Also, I have to kinda apologize if my remarks are a little crazy with Kristi‘s book. It‘s a lot. A lot a lot. Lol. Hope you enjoy everything and thanks again. 1y

A sweet own voices LBGTQ romance. I didn‘t have high expectations but this book happily surprised me. I was engaged in Nestor & Jude‘s story and found it heartwarming.

In other news, I fear I didn‘t bring enough books with me. 🤔

#roaringwolf - rabbit - Jude is rather timid.

Ruthiella 😱Can you buy more books where you are? 2y
wanderinglynn @Ruthiella I‘m currently in the international terminal of Narita (Japan) airport. But I will *have* to break my book buying ban & buy some when I get to San Fran 😉😆 2y
Ruthiella It‘s an emergency situation! 🚨 😆 2y

Nesto has relocated to Ithaca with his food truck of Afro-Caribbean cuisine and meets Jude, a youth librarian - sparks fly, obviously.

One Karen villain threatens both Nesto and Jude. Jude has to deal with being hurt in the past by his fundamentalist family and a previous relationship, but he has a strong friendship with another librarian. Nesto is strongly supported by his friends and family, but is a bit of a workaholic.↘️

ReadingEnvy It looks like the Dreamers series features Nesto and his childhood friends, all from different places in the Caribbean, with a strong bond from growing up together in New York. And they're all in #hoopla! #romantsy 3y

I like the idea of this. I like the tropes, I liked the food truck and the library van but I spent a lot of the book just screaming at these two to have a flipping conversation. And I think IRL people would have done and that meant that some of this just didn‘t work for me

I loved this sweet romance about a food truck, opposites that attract and strong families and friends who support each other! The food descriptions are so amazing it made me want to go find Caribbean food! My first book by this author, I‘ll definitely read more! #ownvoices #ReadingWomen #challenge1

I just finished this wonderful book, enjoying a cold weekend cuddled up with #dogsoflitsy
The story of an chef taking a chance on an authentic Afro-Caribbean food truck in upstate New York. There he meets a sweet librarian also working to expand his programs. This a story of the American dream and love. I highly recommend!! #romantsy #diverseread

Mostly fluffy holiday reads (some great, some not so much,) and a nice smattering of other genres. Picking my favorite was harder than I had expected, looking at my TBR at the start of the month. Alyssa Cole's, The A.I. Who Loved Me, definitely deserves a shout out. But, American Dreamer, takes the Gold for my #BestOfDecember! With compelling characters, amazing food descriptions, and a great storyline, it's drool worthy in more than one way!

Adriana Herrera's characters are so alive, their stories seem to leap off the page, fully rendered and ready to be your next favorite romantic movie. But better, because it's a book! Nesto and Jude are sweet enough to give you cavities and spicy enough to make you fan your face. Be prepared for intense cravings while you read! The food in this book will make you HUNGRY! And be ready to cry, and laugh, and grin like an idiot while you're reading!

Finished my first book for the #bookfitnesschallenge! This was my first time reading Adriana Herrera and I really enjoyed this book. I didn‘t work out today even though I‘d planned to. My right ear has been plugged all day and it‘s driving me crazy that I can‘t pop it. Ear drops haven‘t helped either 😫. Anyway, on to my next book 🌟🌟🌟🌟

wanderinglynn Yay! 1st book done! 🙌🏻 But I hope your ear feels better soon. 💚 5y
BookwormAHN Nice job 👏🏻 Also sometimes putting a hairdryer up to your ear will help dry up any extra water in there. 5y
dariazeoli Congratulations on finishing the book. I feel you on clogged ears. Hope yours feels better soon! 5y
alisiakae I hope your ear is better soon. A plugged ear feels the worst. 5y
Clwojick I feel you, my ears/ otosclerosis cause me a lot of issues too! Crossing my fingers that they clear up soon! ♥️ 5y

Starting another ARC tonight. I only had to work a half day today because we closed the library at noon due to bad weather. I spent the afternoon watching both the Netflix and the Hulu documentaries on the disaster of a Fyre Festival. Fascinating ordeal. Now reading and cuddling with Peri. #romantsy
