Wasn't able to get through this one before the due date, and I'm not sure I'm going to pick it up again. There wasn't much new in what I read, and it was very data-light (but then, that's sociology, right?). I'm also a little leery of the author defining crying as a manipulation tool (at least when middle-class white women do it). Sure, it can be used to manipulate, but sometimes people just cry. It's not always controllable.
