A collection of 13 stories selected and introduced by Haruki Murakami (my favorite author). And, guess what? I‘m reading this during my birthday week! Perfect!!!!

4/5 🌟
This was a quick read with a nice variety of stories including authors such as David Foster Wallace, Paul Theroux, Lynda Sexson and of course Murakami.

With today‘s arrival of Birthday Stories, I have finally acquired all of Haruki Murakami‘s books. This is the dorkiest thing to tear up over, but I love this author so much.
This book was pretty much a disappointment for me. I did like 3 to 4 stories but found others quite boring. It took me a long time to complete this book. Murakami's story The Birthday Girl was good and the others that I liked were The Bath, Angels of Mercy and Angels of Wrath and The Birthday Present. Overall an okay read. Nothing really impressed me. 2.5/5
Just arrived!! I have officially become a die hard Murakami fan! Obsessed with his books!😍😍
We couldn‘t wait until tomorrow to cut the cake, but we did wait until midnight. 😂 They let me choose what I wanted on my cake. I wanted “you‘re a disappointment” because I thought it‘d be funny, but the family said no. They did let me right this. Great American Cookie called to make sure it wasn‘t a glitch. So yummy
Happy birthday to Haruki Murakami 🎂🎈🎁
This is a collection of short stories selected by Murakami with the theme #birthday, each story a snapshot of life on a single day. Stories are by Russell Banks, Ethan Canin, Raymond Carver, David Foster Wallace, among others, and one by Murakami himself. Some stories are quite sad, a few are bleak. This was my second Murakami read.

Hello litsy friends, sadly I've been doing very little reading as of late because I've been having dizzy spells and my mum hasn't been well but I wanted to quickly show you these books by Murakami that I got yesterday in the mail. I'm excited to read them and now my book ban is on 🙃 #bibliophile #murakami #bookworm
My slowly growing Murakami collection for #KostovaGiveaway
I can easily identify myself with his overthinking and alienated characters. Even though, I want to meet him, I probably wouldn't be able to speak ...
I'm jumping on @Cinfhen's bandwagon & doing my own musical book #challenge as May is my #birthday month! Feel free to do whichever one of the challenges you feel like & sorry for the cheesy pop tunes! Also I don't know what happened with the formatting but that's what happened when I saved it to my phone. I'll repost nearer the time but this will hopefully give you ample time to plan for the first few days. Tag is #melodicmay
An anthology of thirteen stories specifically chosen and edited by Murakami around the theme 'birthday', this is not a book for everyone. Most stories are dark and sad. I only enjoyed a few of the stories, including Murakami's own little gem, but I'm glad to be introduced to other authors whom I've never read, like Raymond Carver, William Trevor and Daniel Lyons. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Onto my next book for #24in48 while snacking on crisps.
