Neil Young has a song called "Song of Love" and I almost posted that. Then I remembered this book.???

#Literaryluck #Ireland I'm waiting on my library hold for this book, it sounds like a good one. @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @vkois88
I was very excited for this book and it definitely didn't disappoint. Gorgeous writing and beautiful characters was combined with such a glorious ambience set in Ireland. There were times where I craved more detailed character interactions or snippets of life. However, since the book spanned so many years, I understand it did have to move along at a certain pace. I am eager to get the next two books and see where this all goes!
I really enjoyed this one. It was slow to start but then picked up and rushed to the end. All of the characters were realistic, with questionable morality at times, but you still rooted for some and hated others. There is a second after this one and I'll probably pick it up soon so I can see what happens!

So happy! Three books that were on my wish list this month but our library doesn‘t have. One was 30% off and the other two were 25% off and I paid for them using my Optimum points (a Canadian thing). All I had to pay was the tax! Yippee!

TODAY'S PROMPT: CASTLES
From my review:
"The book became better and better as I turned each page.
You will fall in love with the characters and wish you could join in the family fun at the castle in Ireland and in their homes in London.
The gorgeous cover pulls you in along with the marvelous story line."

Great book! Epic and some very Downton Abbey-Esque moments. Lots of upstairs/downstairs behaviour. Epic read of 3 friends, ghosts, castles, Irish Independence. This is book 1 in a re-released trilogy.
I know yesterday I said I would start on Reservoir 13, and I did do that. It wasn‘t that it was terrible, it‘s just that it wasn‘t the book I wanted to read right now. I‘ve been struggling with finding that right read that is going to sweep me off my feet with its epic-ness. I‘m hoping Santa lives up to her name and gives me this gift with Songs of Love and War. 🤞🏻
Great book. It‘s the first of a trilogy and the first I‘ve read by this author. It takes place in Ireland and makes me want to visit and I wish I was able to talk to ghosts. A little slow getting started but once I got past that I couldn‘t put it down. I‘ll definitely be reading the next two.
Souvenir from RJ Julia in Madison, CT! What an amazing store!
Oh how I loved his book!!!! Can't wait to read the next in the series!
Love books set in Ireland and this one was another winner! The ending is somewhat of a cliffhanger as it feels a bit unfinished. However, I love the vivid characters, the lush descriptions, and the interesting perspectives on the tensions between the Irish and the British.
Lovely book for a lovely day! And not posted on the right day but fits the #readjanuary of #girlinthetitle

Santa Montefiore is a huge internationally bestselling author (even author JoJo Moyes is a fan), and I know US readers and fans of historical fiction will love her books! Her newest novel The Girl in the Castle is set in early 20th century Ireland, and revolves around 3 young women who are torn between love, loyalty, and friendship during the fight for Irish independence.
This is now my fav Santa Montefiore novel I've read! Absolutely dripping with beautiful descriptions of Ireland and packed full of wonderful characters. I'm so excited this is just the beginning of a trilogy as I really want more about all of them. And there are even ghosts! 5 🌟s!
Recovering from Parents Weekend by crawling into bed with this one.
Started this one this weekend and so far loving it! It's quite the door stopper too (500 pages!) so I'm hoping it keeps me entertained!
Ugggggggggg!!!!! I loved this book!!!! However NO ONE should have to invest their time to 500 plus pages to only have more questions at the end than they did at the start!!!!! Not one single character's storyline was resolved!!!! So frustrated 😰
It's going to be pissing down rain all day long. Perfect day to finish this absolutely fantastic read...but first coffee and gym...
Currently reading this ARC and it's not at all what I expected. My very first Santa Montefiore. I'm really enjoying it, but it's much deeper than I imagined...
