Pretty sure I‘ve skipped a few days which is not surprising given my wild inconsistency with challenges. Another shout-out to my Scousers. #20Series20Days #Top20Series

So many British detective series, so little time. But that won‘t stop me from trying to devour them all. While I wasn‘t at all surprised by the conclusion I enjoyed the journey and look forward to spending more time with Murphy & Rossi. Binge-buying FTW!
#StartASeries
Serial killer is stalking victims for unethical and deadly experiments. Victims have ties to City of Liverpool University. DI Murphy and DS Rossi are the lead investigators. Luca Veste is an interesting writer. I found the characters unique and the plot kept me guessing to the very end. I'm looking forward to the next book and I would recommend this series to those who love psychological thrillers.

Thought this was brilliant 😊 A very different type of serial killer than I've read about before and set in my hometown👍🏻Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Not the best of weeks this past week in terms or high quality books but think have found a great new author and series with Luca Veste. Thanks @TrishB

Started the first book in the DI Murphy and DS Steele series by Luca Veste, thanks to a recommendation by our very own @TrishB . This is set in her home town of Liverpool and not read many books set there so looking forward to it. And always on the look out for new Detective series.
A good start so far!
Want to read these books very soon!
I have a very long drive this afternoon and tonight. I'm hoping to finish this on audio on the way north.

Not only set in Liverpool, but partly on the University campus where I work! As the author was a student at the time 😀
@RealLifeReading
I really liked Veste‘s writing style, it‘s smart and sharp and he juggled various viewpoints and timelines like a pro. There are some parts told from the point of view of the killer and I love getting to see a peek inside their depraved minds. He‘s a ruthless serial killer and he immensely enjoys toying with not only his victims, but also the police. This is violent and at times a bit gory, so it‘s definitely not for the faint of heart.
Good debut novel, seriel killer thriller, some gory bits. Based in my home town and my workplace which was a bit surreal!! Will be reading more of the author.
#currentlyreading. New crime writer to me, set in my home city and links to my workplace!
Jack's eyes flash on and off in this decoration, you have no idea how many goes it took to get them whilst they were on 😄😄
New author to me. My daughter picked up the first one and said you'd like this - author from Liverpool (where we live!) book based in University of Liverpool (where I work!), so I brought two and my hubby went in and brought me the other two!! Then we came out of the shop and the author is there signing books in a couple of weeks 😀
I put all the #BooksFromSteinbeck entry names in the random generator and @Artsywink won! Thanks to everyone for entering. Don't forget you have until tomorrow to enter to win the Carrie Fisher book. And stay tuned - I have some more giveaways coming up in the next few weeks! 🎉🤘🏻📚
I'm 21 pages in, and the clunky descriptions are just too much. This series gets good reviews, but it's 397 pages long, and I don't think I can handle that many labored metaphors... so instead I will enjoy my delicious snack {pb pretzels + choc chips + marshmallows} with some Modern Family instead of a book.
