New York, 2060 & Lieutenant Eve Dallas is called in to the scene of a businessman found dead in his apartment. It looks as if Thomas Anders died in the midst of some kinky sex game but was it an accident or murder? Everyone who had a motive has an alibi that checks out including his wife who was on holiday in the tropics. Assignation gone wrong, a random killing or something even more sinister?

OutsmartYourShelf This was an entertaining read as interspersed with the murder case, there were some genuinely funny moments in the banter between Dallas & Peabody. I think I'd laughed out loud at least 3 times before chapter 3. Plenty of other characters make an appearance in this one alongside the usual Roarke, Feeney, & McNab - there are are also subplots featuring Baxter & Trueheart who have an equally baffling case, 3mo

OutsmartYourShelf whilst Dallas & Peabody's close friends Charles & Louise's relationship seems to be on the rocks.

The reason this didn't get the full 5 stars is that Dallas sometimes comes across as a bit 'holier than thou'. I can't really say much more without spoilers but that bit just annoyed me a little. 4.5🌟

I‘d not read any of the others in this series, but despite it being #26, I was able to follow along quite easily and for the most part enjoyed this quite a bit. I did find the sex scenes rather cheesy & unnecessary (*cringe*), and the audiobook reader did fine with the exception of one particular character, in which her choice in voice was awful.

I enjoyed this one as much as the others, but it spoiled itself from the beginning, which kinda sucks. I'd figured it out way early based on something that I think shouldn't have been given away. 🤷‍♀️

Traci1 The title Strangers in Death was the spoiler. I'm sure they used it because they thought it was clever, but it made the mystery aspect of the story super obvious from the start. 2y

Bkwrm7 Yes!! I felt the same way with this one. And I think there was an epigraph at the beginning that just reinforced the obvious reference. 2y
