I‘m racing through this series! 3rd book in 2 weeks! Historical mysteries are one of my favorite genre. So glad I finally started this one. I love the characters more and more as the books progress. I‘ll be jumping ahead to book 8 to join @Andrew65 on Librarything for a group read of the book. Join us if you are interested! Andrew creates wonderful questions and the discussions are lively, fun and informative.

Third Sebastian St Cyr novel.

Young men are brutally murdered and St Cyr must find the serial killer before he strikes again. How are the murders connected? Did the victims know each other?

Short chapters make this a fast read.

Really growing to love this series! My favourite in the series this far, book number 3, and book number 18 coming soon, so I‘m in for a great ride! I found this book to be very personal for the protagonist, but so heartbreaking and horrible that it‘s impossible to understand how anyone can keep on going. Luckily, Sebastian will not give up! #SeriesLove2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Andrew65 A wonderful series. One of my current favourites. Well done 👏👏👏 2y

@Andrew65 I was going to cheat and keep this review for #ProgressItNovember😉
Book 3 of Sebastian St.Cyr series. Bodies are being found killed in unspeakable ways, and with objects in their mouths. Sebastian is asked to help find killer. Of course there is always a side story in these books, about his mother or his lover. I love the storyline being developed through each book I've read. Definitely a series to savor

Andrew65 I finished book 5 earlier this month. Love this series but these books are so difficult to get over here. 4y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 I've been borrowing from Brooklyn library (I paid for a membership there since I'm out of state). Definitely glad I can find them online there. 4y

1. Plenty of strong winds and storms around so likely to curl up with a good book.
2. GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) although still on BST (British Summer Time)
3. Not many great reads so far so will choose the tagged book.
4. Rare but do occasionally do a re-read.

3rd book of Sebastian St. Cyr series. C.S. Harris is an excellent writer and had me hooked from beginning to end. Very atmospheric of dark underside Regency London. Plot is flawlessly constructed with lots of twists and turns. Characters are well-drawn. Looking forward to the next book. I recommend this series to those who like historical fiction, romance, mystery. You should read in order and start with the first book, What Angels Fear.

Crazeedi Soooooo, I'm so looking forward to reading this series 6y

Starting to read this for a group read with @Andrew65 on LT. It‘s the 3rd book in the series. This series is set in 1811 in Regency England. They feature aristocratic ex-spy Sebastian St. Cyr who is an excellent character to follow. Lots of political intrigue with romance and mystery. Book 1 is What Angels Fear and is a great start to the series.

DGRachel Love this series! 6y
Andrew65 @DGRachel I love it too but been so difficult to get hold of this his book in the U.K.! 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 Give me the name of your library and address and I‘ll send my books to them because my library has copies I can borrow. 6y
Andrew65 @EadieB 😂😂😂 Always amazes me the books our library sells off very cheaply when you think they have plenty of loans in them yet! (edited) 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 I guess they need the money to buy new ones. 6y

Will shortly be starting Why Mermaids Sing, which is book 3 in the excellent historical mystery series by C S Harris, starring Sebastian St. Cyr. These are set in Regency England of 1811. This is for a Group Read on Librarything.

Had to send away for this book. This book is very difficult to find in the U.K. Not available at my local library, and no ebook version available in the U.K.! And no audiobook version in the U.K. 😱 What is going on!!

Andrew65 Even the book I have eventually managed to get hold of is an American copy of the book. 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 Happy to start this one too! The UK needs to wise up and do what‘s right for your libraries! 6y
Andrew65 @EadieB Definitely, the whole series is non existent in the library system, yet they are so great and set in the U.K.!!! I just don‘t understand it. 6y

The Sebastian St. Cyr books are so much fun and so easy to get hooked on. I've been rereading the series from the beginning but I'm considering skipping ahead to where I left off years ago. I'm dying to see some of the plot twists played out!

#mermaids Not actually pirate related, but hey...it's got the word in the title. That counts, right?

This one had some surprising twists and left me wondering where things will head from here....❤️ when they leave you guessing! And even though this is a mystery series, Sebastian is every bit the rogue hero that I adore in my historical romances! ❤️❤️❤️ #romantsy #osrbc

I haven't read any of this series, but I've heard good things. So, when I had a chance to snag these for a dollar I did. They sound intriguing! Missing the first book, which is slightly problematic, but I'll survive. (Book sale haul 1)

marie3blue I've heard all good things too. Woot! What a bargain! :D 8y
