pickA group of kids/teens all find themselves together for various reasons at Moon Shadow Campground during a total solar eclipse. These characters really grew on me, and I wanted to be part of their group, camping out in a shed during a storm and discovering exoplanets. Really enjoyed this one, and am now wondering how to see the next total eclipse in the US in 2024 🌚🌞✨#Booked2023 Quiet YA

Some summers ago I lived in Tucson and visited a hippie commune in the desert. They had made their own huge telescopes and it was a highlight of my life to see Saturn. I, too, had a reaction that it looked fake, like a sticker. So reading this felt really wonderful, sharing that connection with these characters. Reading this for #Booked2023 Quiet YA
pickThis reminded me of The Breakfast Club (the jock, the nerd, the beauty…) but for MG. I liked the characters, their stories, how they interacted and how they grew and discovered that there‘s more to them than they thought.

pickMy last post here was over a month ago and I've missed Litsy! A big work project, kids, and a self-imposed ban from all social media for several weeks conspired to keep me away. I haven't been reading much either but did enjoy this middle-grade story of three very different teens who face the struggles of growing and wind up friends. There are some fascinating tidbits about eclipses and stars in here as well, a little education with a good story!
Blind Date With a Book was a success! There was delicious food and beverages, games and book talk. This was the book I picked and I'm excited to read it.... eventually 😅 #BlindDateWithABook #BookClub
