Ensnared (Splintered Series #3): Splintered Book Three
Ensnared (Splintered Series #3): Splintered Book Three | A G Howard, Anita G Howard
After surviving a disastrous battle at prom, Alyssa has embraced her madness and gained perspective. She s determined to rescue her two worlds and the people and netherlings she loves. Even if it means challenging Queen Red to a final battle of wills and wiles . . . and even if the only way to Wonderland, now that the rabbit hole is closed, is through the looking-glass world a parallel dimension filled with mutated and violent netherling outcasts. In the final installment of the wildly popular Splintered trilogy, Alyssa and her dad journey into the heart of magic and mayhem in search of her mom and to set right all that s gone wrong. Together with Jeb and Morpheus, they must salvage Wonderland from the decay and destruction that has ensnared it. But if they succeed and come out alive, can everyone truly have their happily ever after? Read all the books in the "New York Times "bestselling Splintered series: "Splintered ("Book 1"), Unhinged "(Book 2"), Ensnared ("Book 3"), "and" Untamed ("The Companion Novel"). Praise for "Splintered: "STARRED REVIEW "Fans of dark fantasy, as well as of Carroll s Alice in all her revisionings (especially Tim Burton s), will find a lot to love in this compelling and imaginative novel." "Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books" """Alyssa is one of the most unique protagonists I've come across in a while. Splintered is dark, twisted, entirely riveting, and a truly romantic tale." "USA Today" "Brilliant, because it is ambitious, inventive, and often surprising a contemporary reworking of Lewis Carroll s Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, with a deep bow toward Tim Burton s 2010 film version." "The Boston Globe" "It s a deft, complex metamorphosis of this children s fantasy made more enticing by competing romantic interests, a psychedelic setting, and more mad violence than its original." "Booklist" " Protagonist Alyssa...is an original. Howard's visual imagination is superior. The story's creepiness is intriguing as horror, and its hypnotic tone and setting, at the intersection of madness and creativity, should sweep readers down the rabbit hole." "Publishers Weekly" "While readers will delight in such recognizable scenes as Alyssa drinking from a bottle to shrink, the richly detailed scenes that stray from the original will entice the imagination. These adventures are indeed wonderful." "BookPage" "Attention to costume and setting render this a visually rich read..." "Kirkus Reviews" "Wonderland is filled with much that is not as wonderful as might be expected, and yet, it is in Wonderland that Alyssa accepts her true nature. The cover with its swirling tendrils and insects surrounding Alyssa will surely attract teen readers who will not disappointed with this magical, edgy tale." "Reading Today Online" "Creepy, descriptive read with a generous dollop of romance." "School Library Journal"" "

Book 3 in the Splintered Series and I LOVED IT! This whole series was a solid retelling of Alice in Wonderland and one I‘m super glad I chose to read it for my Alice in Wonderland retelling challenge! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ensnared takes up the macabre crown the first book did so well and brings it back to life. The looking glass world brings to life the darker side of the netherlings and shows how they can lust for bloodshed and pain. If you enjoy Alice in Wonderland and like reading young adult that teeters on the edge of adulthood, give the Splintered series a try. #fantasy #youngadult

4/5 stars
I enjoyed this installment a lot. You get to see all the characters in a whole new light, revealing parts of themselves that you didn't think possible. The ending of this series was perfect to me. I love a good happy ending for all parties, this had just that. ❤ I love A.G. Howard!
I was so happy Jeb and Morpheus finally saw what's best for Alyssa and made it work so beautifully.

I‘ve been forgetting to update this again. Maybe I‘ll actually finish this card this month. 👍 #TBR #TBRbingo

JamieArc I love my bingo cards! They really get me to read books that always get moved down my TBR, and I‘ve now read books I LOVED and couldn‘t believe it took me so long to read them! 7y

I still have the companion novel to read, but this was a great way to wrap up this trilogy. This book definitely focused more on the love triangle aspect, but since that was done differently, and there was still so much dark and twisted Wonderland parts to cover, I didn‘t mind it. This was a fun and super imaginative series.

Anyone else playing this new Harry Potter game? I‘m liking it, but I use energy so quickly. At least I can read while I wait for my energy to recharge.

BookishBlonde12 I constantly am reading while waiting for my energy to refill! 7y

GypsyKat @BookishBlonde12 @amyrohn @Puredragonstar I like the game, but I don‘t know how much longer it will keep my interest. The waiting is a bummer. I‘m much more of an instant gratification person when it comes to games. 7y

Continuing on with the third book in the Splintered series, so I‘m starting this one now. I‘ll probably only read a chapter or two because I‘m pretty tired, but I‘m looking forward to seeing what happens next! 😊❤️

So I have been reading reviews for this book and people have been saying that it‘s not possible for Alyssa to be with both Jeb and M. Let me explain how I see it: Humans only choose one soulmate because they only have one heart! Alyssa didn‘t! How I see it, she is two people because of her two different hearts which made it reasonable for her to love Jeb and M. Also, Jeb was in love with her human side and M was in love with her other side.

Readingsmiles It was amazing! Some people hated the ending, but if you read my most recent post after you read the book it makes sense in my opinion @mimsyborogroves 7y

I love reading retellings. The Splintered series is one of my favorites. It combines my love for all things Alice in Wonderland and fairies.

Stoped by BN yesterday after the docs. Picked up these two. I'm suprised that in paperbacks they decide to used colored ink in the chapters. So not see that very often.

Megabooks No you don't! 8y
JoRead Nice covers and you sold me at colored pages 😄 8y
WarpedSweetness I don't even know what these are about, but I like the covers and I'm intrigued by the use of coloured ink. Ugh, my TBR is getting waaay to big thanks to Litsy. Lol 8y

Enjoyed this, the third book in the Splintered series, more than I expected. The love triangle does continue and becomes increasingly annoying but there's plenty of action which makes it an exciting read. I didn't like the ending but it did resolve everything which means I can move on.

I was so worried that I wouldn't enjoy Ensnared since I had mixed feelings at the end of Unhinged. I was wrong! Alyssa goes back down the rabbit hole on last time to face off against Red and take back her rightful place as Queen of Wonderland. With Jeb and Morpheus by her side they must save Wonderland from the decay and destruction that has taken over.

Just finished reading the third book in the Splintered series and I can not lie, tears were shed whilst reading it. I highly recommend reading this series if you enjoy fantasy or anything whimsical of the sorts. I am taking a break before a read the final book in the series. (Other than The Moth on The Mirror, which if i recall correctly is threw Morpheus's point of view). Any recommendations for other books to read?
