#2022Book118
This was almost a 4-star read, but one of the new characters was so annoying that I had to drop it down to 3.

Loved this one! This might be my favorite book in the series yet. Dorothy finds herself lost and ends up back in Oz. She encounters an adorable new friend, Button Bright, and I really hope we see more of him. 💚
Ozma's party was so much fun and I loved the inclusion of Santa Claus and his Knooks because Baum's The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is a childhood favorite of mine.
A marked improvement over the last installment. This one had journey that made a bit of logical sense. The writing is creative with quite vivid description. The supporting characters ranged from creepy to annoying & Dorothy seems a little more insipid in this installment. She came off as a bit pretentious & something of a know-it-all. She was not as charming as she has been in some of the previous reads. A quick & moderately entertaining read.
As you might know, I‘m trying to work through the fourteen books in the Oz series. The beginning of The Road to Oz had me laughing out loud. The Shaggy Man and Button-Bright are new characters and their interactions are so funny. Baum also included some commentary on money and capitalism here and I found that really interesting. I do think the end was a little tedious but overall, still an interesting and fun story.
April #triplespin complete! May not count for #bookspinbonanza, but I'm feeling pretty proud just the same! 🤓 This installment feels like it read more quickly than the last one, and I enjoyed the many varied characters it introduced. (Book 5 of 14). Left me feeling: pleased, accomplished and content.
Given that I only recently started my April #triplespin, it's unlikely that May will be a #bookspinbonanza for me, but I'm still super excited to play!!!! Thanks as always to Sarah @TheAromaofBooks for hosting!!! Stay safe everyone, and happy reading! ☺️📚🎉
So, question. My mother has been a fan of The Wizard of Oz forever. For Christmas for a few years now, I‘ve been buying her the Books of Wonder editions of the entire series.
We‘re up to The Road to Oz this year, and I was a little surprised when it was delivered. The pages are all different colors.
I figured maybe it‘s because this is the first book where Polychrome shows up, but I‘m curious if anybody else has this edition.
Part of my job includes carrying a firearm and qualifying at at least an 80% proficiency every 6 months. This is the only time/thing I've ever gotten test anxiety about. Today I shot my personal best so I stopped at HPB on the way home. Brought home these two beauties- 9 more to find!
Did you know Santa once attended Princess Ozma's birthday party? How many worlds does he serve anyway? ;) #audiobook #bookstagram #wizardofoz #daringgirls
