I finished up the last Oz book written by L. Frank Baum today. Baum had to have known this would be his last book because all the characters from the series make an appearance. Dorothy and Ozma take center stage and, as the cover shows, there's an especially magical submerged city. I've enjoyed reading this whole series over the past year. And I'll be rereading Wicked soon. #beyondtheyellowbrickroad

I‘m so happy and a little sad that I‘ve finished all the Oz books by Baum. I think I have one of Ruth‘s books, and I know I have a copy of Dorothy Must Die somewhere, so I might continue on sporadically. #BeyondTheYellowBrickRoad

Ozma & Dorothy head to the land of the Flatheads & the Skeezers to prevent a war. When the girls are held captive, it‘s up to a team of our favorite Oz heroes to rescue them.

I love this one. We get the whole gang back together, there‘s a fun fusion of science fiction/fantasy w/ the Skeezers city, there‘s some interesting distinctions in the different magic types, & I really Iove the subplot of Ervic & the Adepts. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

It‘s Ozma‘s birthday, & everyone is scrambling to figure out what to get for a fairy. At the same time, Roggedo is up to his usual tricks, & a new magician is running around causing mischief.

This is a cute story with a solid storyline for everyone, & we get the sassy Glass Cat back! Unfortunately, we also get the return of Deus Ex Well of Oblivion, & the Wizard being real shady. But I also adore Cap‘n Bill & Trot together. 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

This book was absolutely packed with information about L Frank Baum and the extraordinary time period in which he lived. He also seemed to have been present for, or just on the heels of, most of the major events I knew about during this time. He was at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, for example. Loncraine did a phenomenal job pointing out possible influences and making connections between Baum's real and fictional worlds.

It‘s called Trouble in Oz, and the whole garden is done up like the fairyland!

Movie references, book references, Wicked references, oh my! Takes about an hour to walk through and was an absolute delight!

Ozma‘s birthday is approaching, and her friends are determined to get her gifts that she doesn‘t already have. This involves lots of adventuring all over Oz. Oh, there are also some people with secret magic who want to conquer Oz. This was fun with the Glass Cat and all the talking animals, and even some genuine peril.

I love the way this artist draws the Wizard. He looks so slick and clever. #BeyondtheYellowBrickRoad
