An easy .. read in one day kinda book! The last half of the book I couldn‘t read fast enough to see how it ended! Interesting book for sure!

Finished between parent visits at Parent/Teacher conferences. Trying to take care of some more books that fit the reading challenges I signed up for. This counts for “Red, White, or Blue Type cover” in #Booked2020 #Summer and for “Less than 150 pages” in #BBRC #YeahBaby

Cinfhen My son had to read this in 9th grade! It‘s very powerful especially given it‘s size. Great choice for prompt🙌🏻 5y
LibrarianRyan I will be looking into this book. 5y

I read this for year 11 English a long time ago. I really enjoyed this book. It shows exactly how extreme views can be taken on by a group and is so relevant to today. I would suggest people read it and take the message to heart.

I‘ve heard about this book and the actual “experiment” for years. I‘m starting a Holocaust unit with my 8th graders later this week, so thought I‘d give this a go. Terrifying how easy it is to just go along. The story itself is interesting but the writing is a little weak.

I‘ve heard of, but never seen, the film that accompanies this. I think there is a German and American version. I don‘t think I realized that this story is based upon an actual event that took place at a Palo Alto high school in 1969. The length of the book would make it perfect for a class assignment while studying WW2. Every year, I‘m asked how the Germans could have followed Hitler. Most students believe they wouldn‘t have been so eager. 👇👇👇

AmberWB This book does a great job illustrating how easily and quickly something like Nazi Germany can occur. I researched the story a bit further, and found out there is a documentary about the actual “Third Wave” experiment. It is called “Lesson Plan: The Story of the Third Wave” and it is on Amazon. Going to watch this weekend! 6y
Headinherbooks_27 When I was in high school, I studied psychology and my teacher shared the story of this incident during her lecture. 6y

This book was written in ‘81, and this passage is referencing an old school film projector. However, I had to laugh, because I am 100% guilty of hoping one of my students can figure out my technology issues! I guess some things never change. 😊

Mehso-so

I really loved the subject matter of this book, having seen the ABC special years ago. Unfortunately this short novel is not very well written and while the tension builds, we have to wade through some pretty mundane descriptions and interior character thought- maybe a product of it‘s time.

Super creepy story of a high school history teacher's experiment meant to demonstrate to his students how the Nazis came to power in Germany. #booktober #booksetinaschool

[DELETED] 1250735911 Wasn't this turned into a movie as well? I remember watching something exactly like this in middle school! 8y
Mindyrecycles I saw a movie version set in Germany and apparently there was a TV movie in the U.S. 8y

Picked up 2 of my son's books for this year's English & History class...they both look good, although the history book is mighty thick!
