Return to the enchanting world of the Montague siblings in the finale to the New York Times bestselling and Stonewall Honor-winning series, featuring a teenage Adrian Montague as he desperately seeks the now adult Monty and Felicitythe older siblings he never knew he had. The sole heir to his familys fortune, Adrian Montague desperately wants to be freefrom his fathers high expectations; the grief of losing his beloved mother; and the constant war being waged inside his mind. Adrian was diagnosed with hysteria at a young age and its always been kept a secret. But when he has a breakdown at his engagement party, the public learns Adrians worst fear: he might not be fit to run the Montague estate. Thankfully, Adrian is given an opportunity to avoid the impending scandal: a trip to the Caribbean to claim the last of his mothers possessions. But along the way, Adrian discovers another secret lurking in his family tree. He is actually the youngest of three childrenhis sister Felicity and brother Monty went missing over a decade ago. Now Adrian has the chance to find them and offer to pass the estate back to the rightful heirs. Adrian expects to win his long-lost brother over with the promise of wealth and inheritance, while dreaming of a quiet life where Adrian doesnt feel like a burden to anyone. But when Adrian finally tracks him down, Monty refuses to return home. The only thing he can convince Monty of is to accompany him across the ocean as an act of tribute to their mother, hoping that during the voyage he can persuade Monty into taking the weight of inheriting the estate off his shoulders. When they reach their destination, Adrian and Monty find something hidden in their mothers belongingsa clue pointing to a valuable artifact that could potentially save the Montague siblings from a curse that threatens their lives. But to retrieve it, they must chase an infamous myth through the wild sugar fields of Barbados to the haunting streets of New Orleans to mysterious uncharted islands off the edge of the map.

Finally finished this trilogy & used it as a prompt for my library‘s book challenge. I think Lee did a good job getting us into the thoughts of someone with anxiety, but some of it could probably have been cut out. As usual with this trilogy, it was more about the sibling relationship. I loved that the older 2 finally embraced their younger brother. Could have used some more Percy. Still love the 1st best.

3.5/5⭐ This book showcases a stunningly accurate and well-done depiction of anxiety-driven thoughts. It was great to revisit this world and its characters, but it didn't feel as strong as the first two books.

A very fitting end to a great series. I really enjoyed Adrian's story. It wasn't as action/adventure as the other books but I didn't mind that. I liked the way the siblings' stories came to an end.

HeyT I keep forgetting I have this in audio. I've done the whole series in audio and they were so good. But now I need to find a way to listen to this one! 2y

Looking at the spring prompts for #booked2022 I was all "but I don't like nautical novels!". Then I poked through my TBR, grumbling, and found THIS. Perfect.

Needed some lighter reading after zipping through ~200 pages of Circe in a few days. I‘ve been having a hard time getting into YA lately, but I‘m delighted to find how easy it was to get back into Mackenzi Lee. Adrian is such an anxiety bean, and man is it relatable. I cannot wait for him to meet his hot mess of a brother. I love Monty; I once made a D&D character based on him and he was the most fun character I‘ve ever played 😆

Though the last story of the Montagues was not the best, Lee still had a spunky take on a historical period, and this time with the Flying Dutchman. I enjoy the quirkness of Lee's writing and was glad to reenter her world.

Happy Ever After on a Monday morning.
I've kept this downloaded because occasionally I just want to listen to the Epilogue, again because it makes me so happy. 💖💕 #montaguesiblings

1. The Nobleman's Guide to Scandal & Shipwrecks. Just started it.

2. It is very rainy and 55°F.

3. We don't get too many very cold days but on the rare occasion that we do, my favorite thing is to make some hot tea or coffee and bundle up under a blanket in my reading corner.

ADRIAN!!! Oh, I love that he got his own adventure and FOUND MONTY AND FELICITY!!! Such a realistic portrayal of anxiety, too, which was both good and painful. I love this disaster family. #yalit

adoramichaels I loved it! It is funny because it is the first one I read. Can't wait to start at the beginning! 2y

It‘s been a month for series books for me…

This series is a breath of fresh air… a diverse, modernized take on romance novels set in the 18th century full of adventure & laugh-out-loud moments together with fantastic characters. Adrian‘s book wasn‘t my favorite (his anxiety is so well written that it was almost painful to read) but it was still so good. I love Monty & Felicity, so the siblings all together was awesome. Plus, ghost ship!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Alfalky I agree on the anxiety being uncomfortable to read sometimes! 1y

Such a great ending to the trilogy!!
Adrian Montague, budding political reformist and anxious mess sets off to discover the meaning behind his late mother‘s spyglass, the first stop brings him face to face with Monty, the older brother he never knew he had. The brothers set off to find Felicity, the sister Adrian didn‘t know about, to aid in the venture. From Africa to Iceland, the Montague siblings form the family they never got to have.

Another enjoyable read from the siblings.
It was nice to travel and see what different places looked like.
It does go over mental health but not too heavy.
These books are so unique and fun

The goblin has anxiety so bad it gave me anxiety to read it. Adrian Montague spends the book constantly apologizing for his own existence, which was familiar to me. It means the character was portrayed well, but I found it less humorous than the other two books, although I did like it.

I didn‘t enjoy this one quite as much as the previous two, but I was glad all three siblings featured prominently. And the ending was incredibly satisfying!!

🎉🥳🎉 Quick Calculation 51% of my
#goodreadsreadingchallenge2021 was audiobooks.
Last night I wanted to know what happens so switched to Kindle. This morning I went back and picked up where I left off because Christian Coulson's narration is perfection.then I listened to last Chapter again on my morning walk. ⬇️

Crinoline_Laphroaig Wonderful to be back in this world. While all the Montague Siblings are here, it Adrian‘s story. Therefore it's not as lighthearted as Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue. Adrian has severe anxiety and your reading from his viewpoint. So while it's different, it's still a great read.

Full of action and adventure as you would expect from this series. My favorite scenes are the interactions between characters. ⬇️
2y
Crinoline_Laphroaig I really enjoyed that you see from the very first chapter that Adrian has found the love of his life. Louisa was such a great character. "She gives me a small bow. “I am, as always, your knight in shining armor.”
2y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @GondorGirl you wanted to know what I thought. Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue remains my favorite but I loved this one two. Of the 3 main books Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy would be my least favorite. I liked it but mainly for getting to see Monty and Percy again. 2y
GondorGirl @Crinoline_Laphroaig Maybe I'll check this one out from the library then. I do love me some Monty and Percy. 🧡🧡 2y

It‘s here! It‘s finally here!! Sick day??!!! 🤔

chasjjlee @nutmegnc Okay, scrolled your page to find this post to ask you this question...
So, I loved Gentleman's Guide, it's one of my top reads. I am on chapter 4 in this book and it is feeling really slow for me...does it pick up eventually? I want to love it but it's not giving me the same feelings that Gentleman's Guide did. I don't want to DNF it if it's going to get good when Monty & Percy appear in the story. Should I stick it out?
2y
Nutmegnc @chasjjlee I am in the exact same *boat* (haha). It‘s so so slow and really annoying. I was thinking it was my mental state but it appears it‘s not just me. I am going to slog through but the others were so good. So disappointed. 2y
chasjjlee @Nutmegnc Oh no!! Well I'll keep going for a few more chapters to see if it gets any better. Thank you, I'm glad it wasn't just me lol. 2y

Nutmegnc @chasjjlee I just made it through Chapter 7 when Monty comes into the picture. It‘s more interesting. Fingers crossed. (edited) 2y
Nutmegnc @chasjjlee phew. Just finished. It‘s def not as good as the others but I‘m glad I finished it. It does pick up when Monty enters the story🤣. (edited) 2y
chasjjlee @Nutmegnc yes I definitely agree, not at all as good. Some interesting bits but....just not on the same level as gentleman's guide. I did end up skimming a little here and there. 2y

I'm sooo ready for tomorrow's release of A Nobleman's Guide to Scandel and Shipwreck. Spent the last few days relistening to all of Montague Siblings Stories. Excited that Christian Colson is returning for Audiobook. His narration of A Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue was perfection. 🏴‍☠️

GondorGirl I adored the first book, but was really disappointed with the sequel. I think I'll hold out for your review before picking up this last installment. 2y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @GondorGirl I liked Petticoats and Piracy but LOVED Vice and Virtue. I'm most excited to see Monty and Percy in this one. I'm Currently listening so I'll let you know. 2y
