Warrior Goddess Training
Warrior Goddess Training: Become the Woman You Are Meant to Be | HeatherAsh Amara
14 posts | 20 read | 14 to read
The Path to Your Inner Warrior Goddess Its no secret that women today are juggling a lot. We now make up more than half the workforce in the United States and are busier than ever with partners, children, family and friends, often putting the needs of others ahead of our own. And if we feel overwhelmed by it all or fall short of perfection, many of us have learned to be our own worst critic rather than our own best friend. In Warrior Goddess Training, bestselling author HeatherAsh Amara provides the antidote to the flawed idea that you are not enough. Direct, honest, and unapologetic, Amara will show you how to release the layers of expectations to finally see yourself for the authentic, perceptive, perfect woman you really are. If you dont love and honor yourself with every fiber of your being, if you struggle with owning your power and passion, if you could use more joyful play and simple presence in your life, then it is time for an inner revolution. It is time to claim your Warrior Goddess energy. Drawing on the wisdom from Buddhism, Toltec wisdom, and ancient Earth-based goddess spirituality, the Warrior Goddess path includes personal stories, rituals, and exercises that will encourage and inspire you to become the true warrior goddess you are meant to be.

Great book. It gives a lot to think about. I like that it doesn‘t just saying “this is what you need to do,” making a hard thing sound simple when it‘s not. Amara breaks that complicated thing she‘s telling you to do into exercises that are fairly simple, but get you thinking and shifting your perspective.

GingerAntics There is still plenty of space to apply the lessons to your own life and experiences in ways that work for you. She just gives starting points, the first few baby steps to get you started. I highly recommend this book for every open minded woman. #HeatherAshAmara #WarriorGoddessTraining 4y
Caroline2 Oh sounds great. Stacked. 😉 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I‘m still struggling to find an example that counters one of my false beliefs, but it‘s all a work in progress, really. I was wondering if you‘ve read any of Don Miguel Ruiz‘s books or his son‘s books. I started fallowing the IG account for their books, but stopped after some posts this past week. As someone with anxiety and depression, I‘m not down for “you‘re just choosing the be depressed/anxious.” 🙄 4y

GingerAntics @Caroline2 I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It‘s too bad we‘re not all closer together. @TheBookHippie has done group reads where the group meets in person to discuss each chapter/lesson. It sounds like it would be awesome. 4y
Chrissyreadit @TheBookHippie @GingerAntics I would love to do this book with an online group if either of you make it happen. I‘m wondering if I could get my daughter and her girlfriend to engage with it- I‘m ordering it and the workbook because it sounds like something I could use personally and professionally 4y
Chrissyreadit I find it frustrating that our culture works hard to make self care difficult and selfish for the people who need it most- and on top of that I have tremendous “survivor” guilt when I engage in self care because I work with so many people it is difficult and impossible for. I also have times when I am in those same shoes! So many thoughts to process around what is necessary and realistic. 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics I have not read those 🤷🏽‍♀️ 4y
TheBookHippie @Chrissyreadit I‘ve thought of ordering the actual workbook as well. I‘ve done this with girls 15-20 it‘s amazing for them. I agree with everything you‘ve said here. I think I‘ll order the workbook and look at it maybe we should figure out an online way to do it. 4y
GingerAntics @Chrissyreadit I would love to do an online group. I‘m totally game for that. I didn‘t have the workbook, but I would love to get it and go through that. 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie yes please!!! I‘ll help if you want!!! (edited) 4y

This is going great, until you get to a few false cows beliefs that can‘t really be disproven. Two can be disproven in general terms, but the third one I‘m having problems with...I‘ve got nothing. 🤷🏼‍♀️ @TheBookHippie I BROKE IT!!! 😂
#HeatherAshAmara #WarriorGoddessTraining

TheBookHippie Out of our entire group not one person could name anyone they trusted 🤯 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie that‘s... reassuring? 😂 That is sad, though. I have a work around for that one. I know people who I respect or look up to who trust people so obviously some people can be trusted. I‘ve kind of got one for the burden one. It‘s the not lovable one I‘m just like ... 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don‘t spend time with people. I don‘t really socialise. I‘m just 🤷🏼‍♀️. I don‘t even have words. 🤣😂🤣 4y
TheBookHippie One girl said she was loveable the rest said they were not. Because they were girls ... 😫 4y

TheBookHippie It‘s really interesting to talk through with a group you learn so much about what‘s inside these kiddos 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie they said they weren‘t lovable because they were girls? How prevalent is this message that sons are better than daughters? I thought that idea died out in the 70s or 80s!!! 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I‘m shocked at just what‘s inside of me at times. I‘m starting to tie things together that I never did before. This would be so cool to do with other people. (edited) 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics it‘s very prevalent here it‘s in the religions 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics I learn something every time 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I always forget about that element of religion. It‘s sad that we‘re still doing this to our children. I swear. I love to listen to people claim this isn‘t part of their religion, but it‘s always part of someone else‘s. 🙄 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I can see that with this book. Wherever you are in life, it‘s going to bring something new every time. 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics right 🙄🤢🤮 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics I am hoping post Covid to run it again then I‘ll buy the notebook 😬 will see where that leads!! 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I was thinking of doing the workbook for a second reading. 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics I‘ll give you the heads up! 🤍 when I go through it again 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I‘ve been trying to figure out if an online group would work, but I think it would require some kind of meeting app or something. 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics I‘d do it again but no clue either I imagine yes it‘d have to be easier than this format 😜 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I was thinking of slack, but it has magically forgotten my email so I can‘t get in anymore. We use teams at work and that could work well for this, too. I don‘t know any other apps/programs that do the same thing. We‘re not allowed to use zoom at work so I‘ve never been in there. I would imagine it‘s similar, though. I know other teachers/schools who are using Google Meet and love it. 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics zoom is hell 🤪😫my son uses google meet he says it‘s okay. I have a slack too -I think ! 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I used to, but apparently not anymore? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Some teachers at my school were using zoom when we first went into lockdown. Something happened with the security and we were all told we had to remove the app from any device we used for work. 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I don‘t know how teams compares because honestly, between teams and blackboard, TEAMS IS THE BOMB (and we have to use both). 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I‘M SO PROUD!!! I found someone I trust (probably) and I found the most logically obvious rebuttal for the being a burden one. So I‘m really only left with one. Okay, this is going better. Do I have to have a rebuttal for ALL of them? 4y

Branwen Wow! That is super interesting! 4y
GingerAntics @Branwen it seems to not matter what tradition you go to. I‘ve read about indigenous peoples from America and Canada, I‘ve read about ore-Christian European traditions (especially in the modern day British isles), I‘m reading about indigenous peoples from Mexico right now, every single one of them have this idea of self care, but they don‘t use those words because to them it‘s logical, it‘s obvious. 4y
GingerAntics @Branwen they‘ve got to be rolling their eyes at us in their graves right now for needing to “learn” self care. They‘ve got to be laughing that we have our terminology wrong. We don‘t need to learn, we need to relearn. Think about it, children only give of themselves as much as they can then walk away or melt down. Adults push them, punish them, and bribe them for more. It‘s really more like unlearning. 4y

GingerAntics @Branwen These people all lived with a far grester sense of community and cooperation with the whole than modern humans do. Somehow, even among, “we die alone and survive together” they could figure out that each person needs to care for themselves in order to contribute to the whole. It‘s truly stunning. 4y
Branwen @GingerAntics It's so beautiful! And also disheartening to know how much we all have to unlearn to become mentally and emotionally healthy! 4y
GingerAntics @Branwen right? I find it so intriguing that it seems EVERY traditional/pre-Christian belief system has this understanding of humanity that has been lost. I guess we can all thank Constantine for that. 4y

@TheBookHippie posted a quote from this book several weeks back and it piqued my interest. So this is happening now.
#HeatherAshAmara #WarriorGoddessTraining

TheBookHippie 🤍😅 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie did you do the workbook for this one, too? I find myself with books like this where there isn‘t an explicit “do this” section where I‘m confused on what the work or process is. Maybe I‘m just getting slow. 4y
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics we did it as a group with young women (in their 20s) so we took it a chapter at a time and talked through it. I go back and forth I think I‘d get the workbook if I did it again but we saw such amazing things just talking however one person dropped out said it was superficial 🤪 however I think something struck a nerve she didn‘t want to visit. I had some things hit me some not but I did learn a something so I enjoyed it. I also think 4y
TheBookHippie If I picked it up again I‘d learn something else . I‘ll let ya know if I get the workbook . 4y
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie that makes sense I tried the best I could with the first chapter, so maybe I‘ll do it a second time with the workbook later. 4y

I'm all about empowerment this year! This is really a great book. It's about becoming the person you were meant to be, but not doing it in a way that is harmful to others.

This book was read earlier this year. And though she has some good advice I have found that a lot of it can‘t really be implemented by those who have lives where they are carers for others, have young kids ect. Let‘s be honest you can‘t just up and leave your responsibilities. So yeah, it‘s a so so for me.

I really liked this. HeatherAsh Amara is fearlessly searching for truth and wisdom and sharing the lessons she's learned to empower and strengthen others. Some of her teachings were quite alien to me and I was happy to be challenged in that way.

Do you really want to look back on your life and see how wonderful it could have been had you not been afraid to live it?
