This was an experimental, meandering narrative that meditates on reality and authenticity, without giving us a decent story to hang on to.
There were a few passages that had me eerily gripped, but mostly it was rambling, surreal and very difficult to follow. The last 30 pages felt like they'd never end.
I suspect a lot of this went over my head. It left me thinking what in the hell did I just read?!

RaeLovesToRead @vivastory It's not very long, but you have to concentrate. You might like it? I like Jeff Vandermeer and the cover is incredible, which is why I bought it, but it didn't work for me, sadly. 2y

RaeLovesToRead @vivastory It's a weird one. I'm not sure I can bring myself to pass it on just yet. It wavered between being deadly dull and confusing to bizarrely intriguing. He has a new book coming out this year and I'm actually tempted to buy it. Even though this was (mostly) complete nonsense, it had something about it... I just can't work out what. Probably one of the weirdest books I've ever read. 2y
