♡♡♡
So I just picked up this box set of graphic novels for $3. This has got to be the coolest art/book piece I have seen in a long time. I'm so glad to have discovered this author!

Building Stories reading party underway. #partylikeanintrovert
The aftermath of a Building Stories reading party. There were nine of us and most people read only one of the 14 pieces in the box. Afterwards, we went around the circle talking about what we‘d read and where we could see connections with what others had read. Someone said we should organize a weekend retreat just for reading all of the parts in this box. 😊
1. If I‘m honest, I really like gift certificates to a book store, so that I might buy whatever I wish. As for giving, I do like to give arty books (or coffee-table books) if the subject is interesting. One year I gave the tagged book to an artist friend of mine...it‘s sort of a 3-D graphic novel...very cool. 👩🏻🎨
2. Reading 📖
3. New to Litsy, so I don‘t have any 🤭
4. A Christmas Story 🎥
5. Ok! 👌🏻

Not actually tagged book, not in Litsy database. Chris Ware is a stinkin genius, that space between the c and h on the restaurant sign breaks my heart, such minutely observed details. A melancholy novella about being an awkward elementary school kid. Tagged book also highly recommended
This is sold as a book, but it looks more like a board game filled with 14 different book-like things. You can read them in any order and build yourself a story. I found this through the Tournament of Books several years ago. #oversizedbook #riotgrams
It‘s been an intense work day today so not in the mood to pick up my book. Perfect night though to rediscover the little booklets that make up Building Stories. It‘s a wonderfully intricate sets of stories, all in slightly different formats, about an apartment block. You see the same events from different residents POV. It‘s intriguing, beautiful and accessible when the eyes/ brain is tired but the soul needs literature! #graphicnovel
Our homemade bookshelves are *mostly* finished so I started putting my comics up. I'll be spending my long weekend figuring out some sort of home cataloging scheme. #shelfie
#2 and The Husband just got me my first book box subscription!! Super excited!
What awesomeness is this?!
This is the section of my book case for coffee table books. Building Stories counts because you need a table to spread out all the pieces! 😉

My wife ( @rachel_mbc ) works at a great book store, so we've got a great signed book shelf. I want to share more of them on Litsy, so I'll try to post one each weekend. I'm thinking #signedsundays
Chris Ware is a genius and captures the human experience with almost cruel realism.
