New York Times bestselling author Sarah MacLean returns with the final book in the Bareknuckle Bastards series focusing on the third brother Duke and the sweet Grace. Grace Condry has spent a lifetime running from her past. Betrayed as a child by her only love and raised on the streets, she now hides in plain sight as queen of London's darkest corners. Grace has a sharp mind and a powerful right hook and has never met an enemy she could not best, until the man she once loved returns. Single-minded and ruthless, Ewan, Duke of Marwick, has spent a decade searching for the woman he never stopped loving. A long-ago gamble may have lost her forever, but Ewan will go to any lengths to win Grace back... and make her his duchess. Reconciliation is the last thing Grace desires. Unable to forgive the past, she vows to take her revenge. But revenge requires keeping Ewan close, and soon her enemy seems to be something else altogether?something she can't resist, even as he threatens the world she's built, the life she's claimed... and the heart she swore he'd never steal again. THE BAREKNUCKLE BASTARDS Three brothers, bound by a secret they cannot escape . . . The Devil, all vengeance and vice The Beast, all fists and fury The Duke, all power and past . . . and the women who bring them to their knees. ______________________ 'I loved it' Eloisa James 'Smart, sexy, and always romantic' Julia Quinn 'For a smart, witty and passionate historical romance, I recommend anything by Sarah MacLean' Lisa Kleypas xxx Praise for Sarah MacLean: 'My absolute go-to author for clever, sexy and fun historical romances' Jennifer L. With that, my #BastardsBeforeBelles reread is done. I actually enjoyed this more the second time. I think MacLean does a good job of redeeming the villain of the first two books. I know not everyone agrees, but I loved both the “real” story behind the night Ewan attacked Grace, Devil, & Whit and the fact that he left London, and worked to make himself a better person, to redeem himself, not relying on Grace to change or save him. Brilliant. 💖

I love a good grovel..and this book gave great grovel! I hated Ewan so he needed to make up for a lot, but I loved how he redeemed himself and made himself worthy of the awesomeness that is Grace. She‘s the queen of her domain and she is just amazing.

Mehso-so

I usually love Sarah MacLean, but this didn't even feel like her. I feel as though she wrote herself into a corner making us hate someone in the earlier Bareknuckle Bastards who becomes the love interest interest in this book, and it feels forced.

Loreen This book is a huge meh for me. I‘m just not convinced that Ewan has earned a happy ending. 4y
robinb Sorry to hear this! I‘m behind on this series (have them but haven‘t started yet! 😂) She‘s always been a favorite. 4y

It‘s not quite as epic a grovel as Day of the Duchess but it is pretty epic and it‘s a lot of fun. It was also just what I needed to escape from the every day. And it‘s got a lovely book cover for sunny weather!

It‘s the week of the yellow covers!

I saw some mixed feedback that there wasn‘t much of a plot in this one, but I barely noticed because I was rooting so hard for Grace and Ewan to work it out. MacLean can really do no wrong in my eyes. Is her next really not out until next year??? #romantsy

I didn‘t know how Sarah MacLean was going to be able to write a satisfying, believable redemption arc for the villain of the first two books in the Bareknuckle Bastards series, but boy did she! I love the character development in this one, and MacLean writes such immersive stories that I actually feared we wouldn‘t get the HEA. My only quibble is the lack of laugh-out-loud moments. Overall, a great end to the series.

cariashley Halfway through this and enjoying it so much! Love her! 4y

This is probably my favorite and least favorite of Maclean‘s books at the same time and I don‘t know if I can explain it. I love a bad guy, I love the guy who tears the world down and gets the girl. I loved the ending with the brothers coming together. I love how Sarah created the groveling reconciliation but I felt it wasn‘t enough. Ewan nearly took Hattie and I love her so maybe there‘s my anger? Anyways, read this series, it‘s amazing.

I am in the minority with this one. I waited a year for this and am sadly disappointed with it. Talk about repetition, and I swear, if “memories came rushing back” one more time, I was going to scream! I only gave it a so-so and not a pan because when something was actually happening, it was interesting. But honestly this book was all feelings and hardly any plot, in my opinion.

And, somehow, we‘re at the end of another Sarah MacLean series. I‘ll admit, I wasn‘t sure how MacLean was going to pull this off, but she did. I will say it had less external-plot driving than expected—and more character-based plot driving. In retrospect, that makes sense for what this novel needed to accomplish.

Following along to online discourse on this one makes me jealous of people‘s memories in terms of what references they can pick up.

Up next! I should‘ve ordered through her site, as I keep seeing all the goodies that came with other‘s preorders. I ran to Barnes and Noble and grabbed the only copy (seriously. One copy! Maybe I missed a shelf that had more, but I walked around that darn store looking for more because this one has a slight scratch on the spine. I‘m weird)

cleoh Ooh I‘ve heard good things about this one! 4y

Received my preordered autographed copy of Sarah MacLean‘s newest book! It comes out tomorrow! I‘m so glad I cancelled my Amazon preorder and ordered it through Sarah‘s local bookshop. It also came with some fun goodies that I have to figure out where I want to stick them 😂

I‘ve enjoyed how the mad Duke tackled the strong willed Grace 😅 It has it‘s shortcoming but overall an exciting romance 😘 A good fight with a happy ever after ending that I‘m intrigued😍 “You are a Queen. Tonight I am your throne” Thanks to Edelweiss for this lovely e-ARC in return for my honest review!

1. At a bookshop yes and when I‘m browsing. A book has to catch my eye for me to pick it up and look at the blurb.
2. I just preordered the tagged book. Comes out in July.
