“I am an adult now (sort of, kind of, not really)”

Too much adulting today. Time to read.
Happy St. Patrick‘s Day 🍀

This audiobook was 7 hours long... And this is the first time I finished an audio in one day! I loved this book! It's the most unapologetic, relatable (personally) book i read!

“From debut author Nina Kenwood comes It Sounded Better in My Head, a tender and funny love letter to coming of age, and #firstlove and its confusions, perfect for fans of Booksmart and To All the Boys I‘ve Loved Before.”

This YA novel about 18-year-old Natalie- her friends and family, her plans for the future, her social awkwardness and insecurities- is sheer delight from start to finish. It‘s funny, sweet, hopeful and really well-written.

CarolynM I liked this one a lot🙂 3y

My top nine from 2020. “Holiday Mix Tape” by Beau North and Brooke West was an honorable mention/10th.

Beach Read was #1 but the rest are in no particular order. I‘m tagging the post under the one that was the biggest surprise.

Waiting to hear about her university placement, a teen in Australia deals with changing friendships and a new relationship.

Eh. Coming-of-age has been done better, but the described feelings of acne scaring body image, first boyfriends, and the shift in transitioning from secondary to university are all well depicted. The opening scene of discovering your parents have been faking their marriage for nearly a year sucked me into the storyline quickly I just wish there would have been a stronger story-arc.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a great romance and likeable characters. An awkward and relatable story about the period between the end of high school and waiting to hear what the future will bring.

Sweet YA with a nice message. The way you see yourself is not necessarily the way others see you and the way you see them is not necessarily the way they see themselves. #ozfiction

LeeRHarry Stacking this one, love a good YA 😊 5y
CarolynM @LeeRHarry Have you read my favourite from last year? 5y
LeeRHarry @CarolynM no I haven‘t , but I have just requested it at my library 😏 I‘m reading the latest from Elizabeth Acevedo as I loved, loved, loved The Poet X😊 5y
BooknerdsLife I don‘t normally like YA contemporary but this one sounds nice! Stacked 📚🤗 5y

Centique 😂😂 I know the feeling! I keep seeing parents of newborns out walking or shopping and the parents look so young! Not that they are particularly - just that I‘m out of that age bracket and looking back at it is Super Weird. 😝🤪 On a side note - i‘d like to order my time machine now 🤞 (edited) 5y
